How does de-badging effect resale value? If it even does?

I thought of that too, then decided I will probably never sell or trade it so I quit thinking about it. Worst case you could always buy the badges and throw them back on before you sell or trade. I dont think it would affect it that much anyway.

I honestly don't think it'll affect resell value at all as the badges are only cosmetic and serve no other purpose other than advertising what you have. It's all in the VIN, mileage, and paint condition of the vehicle that are the key factors when selling it. Think about it, just because you take off a TRD sticker doesn't make it any less of a TRD.

simon2150, while I'd love to agree with you, you're underestimating the ignorance of the masses. My G35 had been badged JDM by the previous owner (Nissan Skyline V35)... and I constantly got people telling me how wrong I was, and why would you downgrade an Infiniti to Nissan, and stupid crap like that. Finally I debadged it (looked a hell of a lot better too anyway), but if people get that confused that easily... I can't imagine trying to convince one of them my TRD Off-Road is actually a TRD Off-Road without the original spec sheet and no badges. Also, I think there was a member on here that was looking at a TRD truck that was traded into a dealer, but it wasn't TRD it just had stickers thrown on by the previous owner to up the trade in value and they got away with it. So, while people SHOULD go by the VIN and features and learn the packages before buying a vehicle... a lot don't :/

Anyway, debadge ftw but I'm still torn about removing all of mine or not. I kinda like having the little bit of off-set on all black but... all the same...

i like the look of debadged trucks, but not my own..not white anyways. When I debadged my truck, is was just to much white..I had to break it up a bit. thats why I put the trd all terrain stickers on my bed also.

I took all the badges off of the tailgate....it was like 5 badges....way too many and made the back look cluttered... ( toyota, tacoma, pre runner, sr5, v6) I mean really....should have just painted the build sheet on the tailgate...I took them off the tailgate but left everything else...
