Decided on satin for the engine bay, there is going to be so much bling under I thought it might be over powering to do it in gold as well. Will have to wait until it is all together to see if that idea pans out or looks like crap.

I made some inner fender support things out of 12ga to beef up and smooth out the wheel wells.

Painted a bunch of parts, the black is actually a really cool color but it just looks like plain gloss black in pictures haha.

the engine bay slowly but surely looking less haggard. I think I am going to put my yellow top in it before the show.

I was having some issues with the last design of my bell crank shock setup, here is the brand new solution. The old setup had a problem with the center section that goes through the tapered bearings being too weak, surprise, it was all-thread. The constant shock loads placed on the all-thread also damaged the thread, creating a less than perfect fit which eventually would lead to slop which was unacceptable. The old setup was also all weld together, which when there was a problem required it to be cut apart, not cool.

The new and improved setup is all removable, even the shaft that goes into the spike part is threaded (3/4") I just couldn't remove it by hand for the photos at home. The center section is turned down drill stock, a.k.a. strong as hell. The front section (spike end) is threaded on as stated, but tomorrow it will also have a hole drilled and then reamed out with a tapered ream and then have the hardened taper pin hammered in and ground flush to prevent it from un-threading under load. The rear section has a full length key way to prevent turning during operation, which seemed like the strongest solution. To make sure that the pieces keep the tapered bearings tight in their cups and to prevent horizontal slop the rear of the shaft is threaded so that the entire assembly can be tightened down, just like the headset on a motor cycle. I didn't really want the nut sticking out though just for visual reasons so the rear section is counter bored so that the nut and washer will be hidden when its tightened down. This time the tabs will also be tigged on, hopefully the third setup is a charm hahaha.

Took the cab down to the booth today, my boy let me borrow the big ugly diesel and a huge thanks to Glenn for lending me the trailer today. The gold looks super sick in the sun, the camera just couldn't capture it. The plan is to paint my bed along with Damien's this Tuesday.

here it is, still isnt done but at least it looks like it is hahaha. I hope to get some larger wheels soon as well as redo the frame, either re paint it or maybe even chrome some pieces. I think we are also going to wet sand and repaint a few pieces that arent perfect pretty soon. Then eventually I am going to re bag the front with the tacoma setup I make and sell hahaha.
