Baja 250 march 12 - 14 whos going?

I'll make sure to post our pictures on this thread when I get back.

 

619, we are looking to go as well... It's a 'maybe' at the moment, but friends who live there are inviting us down... will likely be at the sulfur mine to watch... then back to the beach and play in 4WD!

 

We're staying with some friends from Mexicali in the southern outskirts of San Felipe in some house we're renting for the weekend. I'll mention the sulfur mine area to everybody and we'll see where we will watch from. It's going to be a good race.

 

heres a video from a couple years ago at zoo road! last year was a little more controlled than this.... there were cops there at the main jump and they kept everyone back. the best thing to do there is go the night before and camp a little further down because everyone croweds this jump.

The race course has been altered a bit between Huatamote and Valle Chico, adding 16 more miles... new map, close ups:

 

Yeah, we just changed our plans as well. We won't be renting that house, instead we'll be camping out Friday night somewhere along the course. Still not sure where.

 

From the sulfur mine south is some really rough stuff... lots of jumps, too... and the nice part is no crowds, like close to town. After the race, go enjoy the beach! Nuevo Mazatlan (Km. 32) is a nice campground, with trees on a sandy beach http://vivabaja.com/nm and if you want to go four wheeling big time... then go out onto Shell Island (Km. 26)... http://vivabaja.com/1009 http://vivabaja.com/7409 and http://vivabaja.com/509 were our three camping trips last year.

Those traveling through ensenada be careful brother went 2 mondays ago, pot holes r badddddd his brake disc and pads got fucked up on his sportstrac <<<go figure he didnt get a tacoma like me, went from a ranger to a sportstrac. Anyways he said most of the road he drove half pavement half dirt. Ill be leaving san diego at 2am with two friends, gf was gonna go but had to work

 

oh wow thats an OLD video, the Coyne's were still racing baja

 

Ill be there, going to be the El Chinero, anyone going out there that has a HAM radio, would be nice in case theres trouble, or listen to race frequencies besides weather man and Score ops

 

Less than two weeks to race weekend!

 

Got my request for Friday off approved, got the fire wood already and the race is less than 1 week away.

I know this is overdue but I haven't used the PC much and I hate uploading pix with the laptop. Anyway, here are some pix from this past baja 250. (March 12, 2010 in San Felipe, Mexico)

I Hope to get an edited video of all the footage we recorded so you can really see what these SCORE Baja races are about... The pictures don't do it justice.

Saturday Morning








First the bikes & Quads start:

























Then The Trophy Trucks start. These are big money, unlimited vehicles.
















































This Class 1 (unlimited buggy) rolled about 200 feet up the track from us. He actually landed less than 100ft from where all my friends were standing but they all ran as soon as he began to lose control. We have it all on video but my friend always lags with the videos. Anyway, I jumped in the Taco and went over with the strap. strapped it up and uprighted them. They bent their left upper control arm and lower arm also. Driver & Co-pilot were fine.
