These DB Squad Sports are about 6mths old. They flickered from the get go on and off. Which led me to believe dirty connections. I cleaned the connections and added some dielectric grease. They stops for about a month or two and are now flickering again.

    Details
    1. My OEM fogs didnt flicker
    2. I have a bigger northstar battery
    3. My reverse squad sports and BD light bar dont flicker but are wired to separate switch and relay.
    4. I am using BD provided harness adapter
    5. I am using OEM wiring and switch
    6. I have check and ensured all connections are solid with grease

    Any thoughts?

can you hook them direct up to the battery and see if they flicker?
if they stop, then its something in that oem wiring, i want to say i saw a thread on here about this same issue thought.

Mini thread revive..... did you ever figure out the issue? my BD sports are doing the same thing as the video on my 2020 with the LED package. They did not do so on my 5th gen Runner. hrmmmmm, thinking it’s got to do with the truck and not the lights.

i also saw that BD has an anti flicker harness for their side by side applications, maybe that’ll work?

I am determined that it has to do with the own wiring and draw. They only flicker when other aux lights are on or my subwoofer is turned up high.

none of my other lights do it

I have a group 34 North Star battery

I have the juice but it’s something with the oem wiring

I ordered up some diode dynamics anti-flicker modules. They should be here in short order. I will update after installation.

@Diode Dynamics anti flicker kit showed up. I installed one of them in line on the passenger fog light. Just the one unit seems to have solved the issue entirely!

kit is plug and play and only $30.00, well worth it if your flicker continues.

Update: initial test with anti-flicker can bus — flickering has stopped. I will continue to monitor and report back in longer drives if the flickering persists

I had a BD Squadron Sport on my motorcycle. When the voltage was low, the light would flicker.
I don't have a measurement of what "low" is since I was never able to measure while riding and light was flickering. Installing a larger battery to the dirt bike converted to street legal dual sport fixed the problem.

So if you're experiencing flickering, check the voltage at the terminals to where you are plugging in the lights to see if you're experiencing voltage drop. If so, you may need to wire a relay so the power is drawn straight from the battery to the fog lights.

The DD box may just be a voltage boost/step-up converter that increases the voltage to solve the problem. It could also be a capacitor to smooth out voltage inconsistencies - that's basically what the battery did on my motorcycle.

Mine has remained flicker free. Glad it has seemingly worked for you!

Also, with all the lights and gadgets people have, I am surprised more people haven’t had this issue. Relatively, I feel I have few lights and electronics squads (x2), 30” s8 (x1), 600watt amp with 2 JL W3V3 wired to 2ohms all powered by a group 34 North Star.

no CB, no ham, no satellite dishes, no space antennas, no scene lights etc
