Why Toyota made that sand color for trucks is beyond me. Following a buddy down a dusty road in his was the scariest offroad thing I've done to date.

Chase bar was def worth the money!

I was brainstorming how to integrate a chase bar with my softopper. After about an hour I gave up on that prospect

what about replacing the tailgate lip with a mobtown bracket and drill some holes for some short 1/4x20 bolts to hold the RTL to the lip?

You're right, the RTL really needs some sort of solid structure to mount to. A bed rack, bed cage, roof rack bar, etc.

The best idea I could come up with was integrating it into the tailgate, but it’d be hard to get it to look good. Or hang from the rear bar in the softopper, but I don’t know the rtl weight, and the ST bars are really light duty.

Yeah that’s kinda hefty to be mounted to the ST bars. More than I’d want to leave on there while I off-road

Too bad you don't know anyone that can weld. Maybe they could "Fab" something up for you.

Not worth it since I don’t actually need a chase bar.

I was planning on trying out the mini RTL with the license plate mount, wired into the trailer pin harness. It worked, but never got to use it since I sold the tacoma lol. If someone wants to buy it, I’ll sell it
