    Hey Jnull,

Great question, Yes and no... Yes the output is not double, but the light projection is slightly different.

For the ONX6 40" the center of the bar will project light farther down the road then the 20in. The reason we change the board and not just the lumens is, if we just increase out put and not projection the light will cause a hot spot in the center of the trail or road essentially making it less effective. To combat this issue we redirect light farther down the trail rather then just lumens.

Ps: a hot spot is caused by oversaturation of light in one location causing glare, shadowing, eye fatigue, and a multitude of other issues as a result we want to limit over saturation in a single lighting zone.

I hope that answers you concern about the lumens difference... So yes lumens are important, however they are just a piece of the equation.

    Best,
    Brock Brunkhorst

Yeah, it does. I had a "hotspot" from the 20" when I had it aimed too low and it was really annoying. Much better now, but I would like some light farther down the road (back road highway driving conditions).

Out of curiosity, what difference would I see going from the 20" to a 30" bar? I'd love a 40" bar but it would require a lot more modifications for the install vs swapping the 20" to a 30". Would I also have to change the wiring harness going from a 20" bar to the 30"? I'm sure for the 40" I would but it would need to be relocated anyway so it wouldn't matter.

    Hey Txpro4x4,

You picked a great choice, what kind of driving style are you looking to use them for. Both Locations have pros and cons...talking that specific light the Driving combo...

If you want to put them on the A-pillar; angle them to the sides. The reason being they will be most effective as a ditch light rather than pointing them forward due to the potential glare off the hood.

If you want the light to point forward; then front bumper will be most effective due to the limited number of obstructions that can cause glare or reflection.

Yes the hotspots can cause just more annoyance than anything....

for the onX6 Yes going from the 20" to the 30" the same wiring harness can be used

I feel these photos offer a great foundation: Regarding the previous post look at the telephone pole and mountain in the distance- it really shows how size change projection, location, as well as lumens.

    Brock Brunkhorst

Do you happen to have one at the same location for the 40" and or 50" bars?

    Hey IPT,
We dont have any photos currently of those specific lights I apologize for the inconvenience. There are other photos out there I just cant verify them so I don't want to show any inaccurate information.

The alley was not the place to take pics but I the lights a lot.
There was not as much glare from the ditch location but still undecided where placement will be.
I'll snap some pics when I'm done with my installation

    No problem, thanks for looking.

Looking forward to BD updating the site to provide stuff like real time light changes and the effect on the lighting and or MeMario1234 getting it done!

Hi @Baja Designs, Any updates on when LP9s will be available? I placed my order in early January when there was a 8-10 week wait.

    Hello @Baja Designs,

I have this LED pod from one of BDs motorcycle light products. The board and the LED are different from the Squadron Pro or Sport. It seems to be brighter than the Pro. What is the equivalent of this light if I wanted to purchase another pod? Racer?

    Hello 2Barevo,
Thanks for reaching out, just for clarification do you know what light you already have? You are interested in knowing the difference between the Squadron Pro and Sport correct?

Hello Brock. Im looking to get some assistance in identifying the light pictured above. It is from one of your motorcycle line up. I dont know if it is a sport or a pro. It seem to have a different circuit board and LED chips from pictures ive seen of Pros or Sports.
