Great to hear @17taconut. Let me know how you like them when they get installed. Hopefully, the truck gets back in your hands soon.
    Best,

I've been looking at ditch lights for a while... I began with S2 Pro on my wishlist, then started seeing more ppl with Squadron Pro, and now XL is in the running. I know it's subjective on what ditch light is the best fit, but would anyone mind sharing their thoughts on the ones they chose? Anyone wish they went bigger or smaller?

I’ve had squadron, S1, S2 and XL80s. It all depends on your budget and preference. I personally love the look of the XL but to some people they are too big. The S1s look kinda dumb as ditch lights (in my opinion- a lot of people like them). The S2 was as small as I’d go but they still seem kinda out of place.

So a fast and dirty suggestion would be to either go squadron or XL and just decide what your personal preference is.

I will say if you do go XL then you need real ditch light brackets to support them. If you buy a garbage brand like Cali Raised or Rago then they’ll bounce like crazy.

I have squadron sports mounted on mine. At one point, I went up to XLs, but that was very short lived as they were too heavy for my Rago Fab brackets and wobbled a ton. I think squadrons are the best balance of output/price/looks for ditch lights. I would recommend getting the combo driving beam, that way you get a bit of distance out of them as well.

It’s too bad you let the poor quality of Rago stop you from getting an awesome light on your truck. I had to upgrade to SDHQ brackets to stop the bounce and they are rock solid. I’ve recently bought Baja Designs brackets for my new Sequoia and they are of the exact same quality as SDHQ.

It's alright. The squadrons work great for me. I had been given the XLs for free, and I was able to sell them for a hefty profit. I also wasn't the biggest fan of how huge they looked on the a-pillars.

They are very big on a Tacoma. I hear that. For me, they fit everything else I did to the truck so it was a perfect match. It really just comes down to personal preference I think.

Yeah, I sold them to a guy who was putting them on his Cummins Ram Mega-Cab prerunner. I think they'll look a bit better on his truck lol.

Back when I had my Tacoma I ran the Squadron Series because of the size and the brackets I had. I loved them for what I was doing with the truck but have seen more and more people running different lights. Let me know if you have any questions feel free to reach out.

Squadrons really are the perfect ditch light for a Tacoma I think.

I can’t really argue with that. The XLs are kind of a rare use case.

On another note, I might be picking up a pair of never used Squadron SAEs tomorrow from a guy on FB marketplace. Does anybody know if they will fit in the squadron fog light mount for a 2015 tacoma? I want to put them in my fog spaces.
