I think it would be better to have the data. Everyone has their own opinions and driving styles so Brandon could be right in saying that the Baja suspension is the shit and we could be right in saying icon/fox/kings are the shit as well lol. I think a lot of that is up to opinion which is why you would need the data

According to a member here, these are the p/n's for the Baja:

PTR13-35120: which includes front shocks, front springs, front jounce bumper spacer, front jounce bumper, rear shocks, rear brake line spacer

    or separately as:

    PTR13-35120-AA Front Springs
    PTR13-35120-AB Left Front Shock
    PTR13-35120-AC Rear Shock (Need 2)
    PTR13-35120-AD Hardware Kit
    PTR13-35120-AE Bushings and Brackets
    PTR13-35120-AF Right Front Shock

Like I said earlier in the thread is all irrelevant because not one person in this thread has had an OME, a Toytec ULK, a Baja suspension, a King suspension, an Icon suspension, a Fox suspension or a 7" spacer lift on top of a 24" body lift with OME's on top of 5100's all on their truck at one point to actually know whats better.

Outside of the fact that OME with the heavier coils is made to support more weight up front the rest is all conjecture.

People keep repeating this same line, but no one has actually posted up a superior product for similar pricing.

Who has shocks better than 5160's for $379?

Who has shocks better than 9100's for $600 (guestimate)

I thought the whole deal was the Toyota or TRD had their own tuned versions of the 5160s and the 9100s, not the same as the off the shelf items. If they're just regular 5160's and 9100's, you're between that and the low end of Icon or Fox. No idea how you say which is better, you'd need a suspension pro to tear them apart, see which would hold up better. If the 9100's are 600, you'd really need to spend close to $750 for shocks and coils since the coils aren't the same as the stock Tacomas so again, you're comparing against the low end of Icon or Fox.

First thing that comes to mind, are the 5160's and 9100's rebuildable and can they be custom valved?

9100's are rebuildable, but they are not what is in the baja, and the 5160's ARE on the baja but NON-rebuildable. so i would vow to say that the front shocks (whatever they are) are not rebuildable either. comparing these shocks to fox icon and kings low end is also no comparison, as the low end of those companies' shocks are much better quality than what is on the baja. plus... the baja has stock UCA's like the rest of us... double-u T fuck.

I'm not sure why people can't grasp the fact that TRD and God being involved already makes them better. No further discussion needed.

We all know TRD makes the greatest exhaust in all the land as well for these trucks. TRD etched tip alone is good for +35 wheel HP.

Trying to buy the BAJA parts from the dealer will add up real quick.

If you want to mimic a BAJA it wouldn't be that hard.

    1. ICON Black 2.5 Coilovers (NO RESI) and Eibach springs powdered Red. (You're already upgraded at this point over the Bilsteins stock. Get the RESI to perform better but will not be the BAJA look.

    2. TRD Beadlock rims in Black. (Will not be the Graphite but its better IMHO)

    3. Bilstein rear shocks. (I'd upgrade with another company IMHO)

    4. TRD rear badge for the tailgate

    5. Baja stickers

Honestly. . . If I could do it all over again. I'd skip paying the extra money for even my TRD. I would've bought a SR5 Prerunner and built it from the ground up. I would've saved more monies.

    Bajas are around 35k

I could've bought a brand new standard DC SR5 v6 for around 20.6k. That means I'd have around 15k to mod my truck. Saving on tax and apr%.

The list is crazy how much you can make that sr5 destroy the BAJA

Haha. I'd never put flow master on anything. While I don't hate the TRD if I had it to do over I would have went Borla or just had an aero turbine muffler welded in.
