    Fellow (AccessCab) Tacoma owners,

I am going to Baja Ca. in December and was wondering if any of you have any ideas regarding putting longboards on top on somehow attaching them to the truck.

    Here are my options:

    1. Buy a ladder rack

    2. Buy some sort of in-bed rack system

    3. Attach the longboards at an angle so they will not be in the way of the tents and shortboards.

Things to consider are storage after the trip, cost as I do not have a lot of money for this, and wind resistance.

Here is the best place to buy something I think: http://www.rackitinc.com/camperrack.html

    Let me know your ideas,

    Brent

I've always used roof-racks with tie-down straps to haul mine, and my wife's surfboards. This way the box is still available for other stuff, and you're still aerodynamic enough. You can usually find decent used roof-racks on craigslist, ebay, etc... for a good price.

I put racks on a truck cap, but my buddy has an access cab without cap & he uses roof racks on the cab. Works great for longboards.

I do a fair bit of beach driving and surf trips, and I really like having a cap on the truck so that shortboards and gear is locked away and out of the dust, and lots of room for longboards and bikes on the roof.

No way, but I read about it. That is incredibly sad, he was an amazing surfer!

another option is what All-Pro developed for their Baja Taco It looks like a really good rack system, and I think I heard them say that they were coming up with a system for the second gens as well :D

I actually called them but have not heard back from them yet. Great idea as I am excited about getting my baja rack going.

    Thanks,

ATO front skid (need more but icon's might fail if I hang anything else from my truck) All-Pro front bumper thanks to a good deal here and a pesky encounter with a rock or 20, total chaos uppers.
Did you figure something out yet? another question is do you have a shell?
I have used soft racks and let the nose of the board rest on the back of the shell with no issues.
