I have a Baja rack utility flat rack and I'm looking for a way to mount things to it, Baja rack sells mounts but there really expensive. Does anyone have any ideas for mounting things to tube type roof racks?

If I'm reading your question correctly you want to be able to mount things to the tubing on the rack itself? U-bolts? Make your own mounting plates out of aluminum? Aluminum is easy to cut with a circular saw (wear gloves and eye protection), drill and tap, etc. You can even mill it with a router if you're careful.
