You have a small rust spot and you didn't take it to the dealership as soon as you saw it

I didn't cause it was on the shocks, but now it's kind of bugging me.

    Thread resurrection!
So did the dealer say anything about a possible warranty situation? I bought a brand new 2013 leftover last month and have the same issue.

They wouldnt do anything cause it was cosmetic. They said it it rusted through they would. I polished them up but now after winter they are rusty again.

ahhh bummer. I may give the warranty angle a try since my truck is so new. It might also be worth getting a second opinion if you have another Toyota dealer nearby.

I would also recommend putting a call into Toyota corporate. I had a problem with my old FJ that wasn't being handled appropriately by the dealership. I placed a call into Toyota Corporate (after weeks of frustration with the service department) and the dealership called me back and resolved the problem within 45 minutes. Dealerships don't like consumer calls into corporate! Always worth a try.

I was wondering if they will rust. They use alot of road salt here in upstate NY. I have two coats of under coating on my Tacoma.
