I’ve searched everywhere but I can’t find any numbers on how much lift this kit provides 3RD gens. I have a 2021 Off Road and want something in the 1.5-2” range to fit 32” tires or so. Does anyone have any examples of 3rd gens on this kit?

    Thanks!

3rd Gen sits 1” taller in front so these provide 3/4” lift up front just like the Pro suspension on 3rd Gen. you can add some small top plate spacers to get a little more if desired, I ran 1/4” spacers for an extra 1/2” lift to clear my 255/75r17s (true 32s).

    Ordered!!

My '13 Taco Baja TX has 145k, the suspension has been getting noisy and bouncy. This is a good deal to replace with same. I was opting to go the Fox 2.5 route, but had reservations on long term quality, service intervals, etc. we drive a lot of WV salted roads during winter, so needed a bombproof setup and the factory Baja kit to this point it's been flawless, so why change things??

I do plan to tweak the setup, add either Ikon AAL or RXT (thoughts/comments?)

Up front finally get to install a set of JB OR heavy duty UCAs I had laying around and new OE LCAs, maybe I'll add set of 1/4" lift spacers up front (run 275s minor rubbing in full lock).

Any thing else I should do to improve this minor lift?

With driving on salted roads I’d spray the shock bodies in clear to keep them looking new as long as possible. Be very careful to not spray the piston.

I ran the icon 3-leaf progressive AAL on mine and it was great. But at nearly 150k a new leaf pack would be a better idea. 1/4” top place spacers work well with the kit, ideally you’d switch to the stock bump stops instead of the low profile Baja ones to factor for the spacers. You might be able to add washers to achieve the same outcome.

More lift will help rubbing, but compressing the suspension at full lock may still cause it to occur. You’d get more adjustability to minimize it with SPC UCAs vs JBA, but JBA will work fine.

Lastly you might consider 255/75r17 tires next go around, a bit narrower than 275s which helps resolve some of the rubbing issues. They are often lighter, I run KO2s in C-load which are lighter than most 275s which is better for performance and mpgs.

My truck with Baja suspension, 1/4” front top plate spacers in front and icon 3-leaf progressive AAL rear w/overload running 255/75r17s.

So maybe go the Ikon RXT stage 1, does that kit do a full swap of the springs? I have an Undercover bed cover and a rack, adds around 120 lbs. As you can see springs don't look so good and the shocks are done.

probably add a flip kit while at it. Will do the new prep clear coat spray protection from sourced from Eastwood, a good idea.

Any thoughts on the thin wedge angle shims under the rear leaf packs?

    Update: the Ebay kit arrived,
($1k) which was a deal! All the components included, brackets, lwr bump stops, rear brake line bracket. Only issue the shocks look like they have been on a shelf for some time, so the metal bodies are not looking so perfect. Maybe I can do a careful wire buffing to clean off the oxidation. Also have all new OEM hardware for U/L UCAs.

I got the lift installed, I did pretty much what you did, but on my 2021 TRD Offroad. TRD Baja suspension kit, 1/2” spacers, JSC Upper Control Arms, and Icon Progressive Add-A-Leaf in the rear. All on 17” FN Countersteer Type-X’s with 265/70/17 Toyo Open Country AT3 tires. Only difference was the shop put both front shocks in the upper position, so I have some lean. Going to have them lower the passenger side when I take it in for the 1000 mile checkup.

Measurements (from ground to top of wheel well at center of hub):

    Before Lift

    FL: 35”
    FR: 35.75”
    RL: 36.75”
    RR: 36.5”

    After Lift:
    FL: 37.75”
    FR: 38.5”
    RL: 38.25”
    RR: 38”

I got more lift than anticipated in the front, but some of it may be down to the caster changing the location of the center of the hub in relation to the wheel well, which is not level. I had a tiny bit of rubbing when turning while facing downhill and reversing before, but all rubbing is gone now. No vibrations to speak of.

PS I sanded the corrosion off the shocks with scotchbrite red pads and then painted them with 2K clear coat as recommended. Looked much better afterwards.

You might recheck your measurements in a week or two once settled and see if they are closer to expected, or after the passenger front has been corrected.

While that might help correct the lean it negatively affects the power to weight ratio. Not recommended.

Any updates on this? Its something I was considering, but I thought the Baja kit was for 2nd gens and would not yield much lift on a 3rd gen. Do you think most of the lift came from the spacer?

    thanks,
    Dave
