Feel ya there, traded for an access cab just for that reason (and 4wd), hated my dirt bike hanging out the back end, now I can close the gate and throw my gear back there too with it.

 

hanging out, plus every time i loaded long things like a load of 2x4 studs or anything else i always felt like the tailgate was going to break off.

i am still frustrated from time to time with the fact that even with the 2nd gen taco being wider and bigger in every dimension than a 1st gen or old toyota pickup the bed is still more narrow.

and without a bed mad the thing is crazy slippery. but the composite bed takes a beating! so win some and lose some i love the truck

 

I ordered both kits today (one for my truck and one for my moms)

I will be watching the mail and let you all know how it ends up.

Then I will spill the beans on the deal (once I know its legit) so anyone else who would like to do it can.

 

Best of luck. It's a fairly easy install with the correct spring compressor. Neither my hydraulic nor my two-piece manual compressor would work, had to take the fronts to my neighbors shop to do with their wall compressor. Midas shop. It's a good setup IMO, because there are no associated problems that come into play with it, weird VSC problems, vibe problems. Good onroad and offroad, it really shines at high speed on rough dirt roads IMO. Which one would expect from a Baja setup.

 

You ordered 2 kits? Where did you order them from? If you ordered it from a random Toyota parts site, my $ is on the order being canceled.

I agree the install is easy. You actually don't even need a spring compressor.

All I see with that is a blank screen. Probably my fault and I went to too much trouble for a simple method.

 

I ordered two yes, in separate orders.

I ordered from a dealer, they responded to my email inquiry with a higher price. Then I went onto thier website and made my orders. Now im out of money again. But looking forward to testing it out!

 

I can see it, but if you google "tacoma shocks without a spring compressor" the YouTube video should pull up.

This method is super easy, and as safe as it gets.

Both of my trd baja suspension kits arrived today!
The price was $1550 originally my order was canceled after I paued because they had them listed for $1216.

After the orders were canceled I called toyota who said it was an error in the system and that it was less than thier cost so they could not honor it.

I ordered both from toyota of dallas.
Thier website is www.trdparts4u.com enter the part number from earlier posts in the search box and it will come up. Now that both of mine have arrived I can confirm that it is lagitimate. Shipping was inexpensive for me 35 on one and 38on the other.

Stay tuned for pictures, it will likely be a couple weeks before I can install it on either truck.

The last thing is one of my emails returned with the price of 1594 $ that was also toyota of dallas. I dont know why but it was higher than thier online price.

My local toyota dealer first told me that the part number was invalid. After assured them it was they dod more searching and they came up with 1594 as well. But they said toyota corporate had a stop order, and I could order it but toyota would not ship it untill an unknown date.
