‼️ Any chance any one here knows how to remove the lower spring seat on a Baja front strut?

I want to move it up to the next setting and this thing won't budge. Tried a rubber mallet, and then a press. I want to slide it up so I can move the retainer ring to the next notch.

From what I understand there are 3 notches, the bottom as seen in the photo, the middle one currently being used, and the top notch which I believe is covered by the seat in the photo.

On my Pro there are only two. They're set higher on the driver's side to eliminate taco lean. As far as how to move the spring cup...can't help you there.

I see in step 15 of toytec instructions for the lower spring seats it says the stock ones are to be removed. So this at least tell me that they are removable. Mine might be rusted on.

What I don't know is how to remove them, and more importantly if there are 3 notches which would allow me to raise the seat a bit, allowing more lift.

The one in the picture I posted above is from the driver side. The passenger side doesn't show any notches, which leads me to believe that there might only be 2 notches like you mentioned. Because "in theory" if the passenger is at the bottom notch, then I should see an exposed notch above the seat if there are 3 notches, which I don't see, and that leads me to believe there are really only 2 notches.

My advice, which isn't worth much, would be to spray it down with PB Blaster and let it sit for a while, then find a piece of pipe big enough to fit over the shock body, and sit on the cup. Tap the pipe so it knocks the cup straight up, and not at an angle. Could very well be rusted/crudded on, and/or the shock body being covered in crud keeping it from sliding along.

Is it possible that it twists to align a key slot type arrangement that locks and unlocks it so it can be moved?

I thought about twisting it as well but then there would be a key slot in the bottom of the lower seat to allow for the retainer to come out assuming that is the case but there isn't an any key slot in the bottom of the lower seat.

As mentioned, there are 2 seat positions (not 3) so that one housing can be manufactured and used for both sides, then the seat can be set 1/4" higher on the driver side to account for Taco lean. The driver side should be set at the high position and the passenger side the low position. If you were to raise the passenger side, you would just introduce more lean as you will not be able to raise the driver side to counter it.

If you are looking for a 1/4" more lift, I would look at getting 1/4" taco lean spacers for the 6112s and using one on each side.
