I noticed that the tacos are built in two different Mexico locations - Baja and central Mexico. Any indications which ones are built better?

But if you must know... The one built in Mexico is better.

Because any thread like this is going to imply...never mind. The quality is the same no matter where it is built. Toyota does not fuck around when it comes to builds.

BAJA, cooler name, home of Baja offroad racing, the Baja plant has been building Tacomas longer. The Baja plant is also closer, to the lower 48, my geography colud be off.

I get the racism piece. My concern is the newness of the central Mexico plant, not anything against Mexico or their people. Both places are in Mexico.

:rofl:Why anyone would think your question was racist or stupid is beyond me. Perhaps its well known that all Toyota factories are identical in quality (that'd be news to me) but I feel it's well known that throughout the history of automobile manufacturing there 100% have been differences in quality from different plants. It's probably pretty uncommon these days but definitely a possibility of something that could happen.

Not racist. Not a stupid question.

I agree. Both plants are in Mexico so the fact the plants are Mexican is automatically taken out of the equation. Baffling. The central plant is brand new and likely going through learnings and hiccups. Not a stupid question. When people say things like that (trolling) I try to ignore.

Personally i wouldn't have any tacoma built in mexico, but thats just me from personal experiences which electronic circuit boards that were remanufactured there for the company i was employed with. The quality control was terrible vs when they originally built here in the u.s. Sad to say that circuit board company went belly up, and was sold. There now being produced in south korea.

I would think any plant that is opening anywhere in the world would have people from other plants come in and teach others what is going on. I don’t think any established company would just open a new plant and start production blind, especially Toyota.

So to answer the original question, any Toyota from any factory should be the same quality.

Imo, racism is never is part of wherever something is manufactured. I've met many folks of mexican decent that work harder than a lot of our younger generation here, and there are some that are very good. Problem gets to be with the overall quality of the finished product. You have to have qualified workers that take pride in their workmanship even if it takes a little more time.

Because when the Tacoma was built in Texas and Mexico those threads are really bad.
And, if Toyota is building same vehicle in two different plants, quality will be same because quality checks are the same. You need to work in manufacturing and you would know.

Toyota recalled ALL of their BZ4X and Subara variants because the wheels can fall off, and those are built in Japan.

IDK if it's a supplier issue or Toyota manufacturing issue causing the failure.

Can you give me an example on the modern assembly line where the line worker is a highly trained 20 yr skilled worker, or, give me an example where a line worker moves a highly technical and calibrated machine two feet from point a to point b to do a tech process?

You have to have a quality control check between the plants for the same amount of vehicles produced for which plant that piled up the most complaints.

My opinion about Texas versus Mexico built NEVER had to do with race. I always wanted net new jobs for Texas. I don’t care what race the workers are.

Both can be troublesome...comes down to the workmanship of the individual. Gotta be someone thats qualified to check the robots time to time if there within spec. In my case it came down to the individual's ability to use the diagnostic equipment to trace the faulty components, and replace them in these modules. Their company simply had workers that didn't understand how to properly use this equipment, plus the workmanship was plain crude when it came to desoldering and re-soldering them back. Helen keller would have done better. This was typical when these companies moved to mexico to increase profits.

My truck was built in Guanajuato, Mexico. I'm impressed by the workmanship.
