What do you recommend to attach a Hi-Lift to a utility rack?
    Thanks.

I'm tentatively down for a 2nd gen rack, picked up locally (we'll confirm/pay next week). We're only about 2 hours away and enjoy a good road trip.

I think you have a typo here, as the list price on your site is $610 and not $640 (additionally, 12% off $610 = your sale price of $536.80).

Thanks for catching that. List/MSRP is $610 but the sale price we had posted was correct.

For local pickup if you don't want to pay shipping we will include your rack on a November-ish ship date restocking order. Local pickup will have 6% sales tax added for SC.

    Thanks again,

    Steve

Hi Steve. Hope the sale is going well. I posted up a question (not sure if you saw it) about mounting a Hi-Lift to a utility rack. Best options?

The best way to attach a HiLift to a flat/utility rack is BR-HLA-UT-0. Retail is $110 and 12% off for the sale = $96.80. I don't have a pic but have requested one and will post it up ASAP.

Thanks and ask away with any other questions.

Ugh, that sucks. So $36.60 tax plus gas & 4 hour round trip, or $149 to ship it 100 miles.

Unfortunately we have to charge SC sales tax for any products that are shipped within SC or we will get in big trouble with the Dept of Revenue. :-( If you aren't located in SC then we don't have to charge SC sales tax.

Most of the racks sold will probably be shipping from the BajaRack warehouse. We charge flat rate shipping for racks in the US. Surprisingly freight shipping prices don't vary too much from short to long distance as what we have seen most of the charge is getting the rack to the local terminal to us and then to the terminal closest to you and then to you. We try to help out on shipping costs as much as we can and at $149 shipping we never make any money and often end up paying $40 or $50 of the shipping = double :-(.

Thanks again and let us know if you have any other questions or would like a rack.

    Steve

I think you're saying you have to charge sales tax for any racks sold or shipped to SC, but only have to charge shipping to racks shipped outside SC. Is that right? We're in GA, but may consider driving to SC to pick up the rack and avoid the $149 shipping (September would be fine). Do we still pay sales tax on that since, even though we are not from SC, you're not shipping it outside SC?

    Sorry for the confusion.

Any racks picked up at our store or shipped to a SC address will have 6% SC sales tax charged.

Shipping is charged to any racks shipped.

You can pick up at our store, where we will charge 6% SC sales tax. To avoid any shipping we can get your rack to our store for free shipping but it will have to be prepaid and will be included on a November ish restocking order.

If we ship to GA we do not charge SC sales tax.

I hope that answered your questions. If you have anymore just let us know and we will help out.

    Thanks,
    Steve
