Bak Industries Revolver X2

Hi all, read online about the new Bak aluminum roll-up tonneau cover coming out next month. Anyone have eyes on the new product or any information on them? Thanks.

I have the Roll-X. Looks like they changed the name but it remains basically the same. I think its great. If they cant see it there is less temptation. People assume its a soft cover and thus nothing of value is in the bed. With a Pop-n-lock in the tailgate its as secure as a truck bed can be with out going to extreme. When I carry something big I just roll it up. Rolled up you can still see out the back. That was an issue with me when I looked at the fold-ups. Also the fold-ups I looked at had awkward locking clamps.

 

I realize it isn't the Revolver X2 but have you had issues with leaking wth your Roll-X, from my understanding the X2 is just a Roll-X with updated features?

 

Along with possible leaking issues, does the lock down mechanism ever freeze up in the winter hindering opening of the cover?

 

If I run it through the car wash there is a tablespoon or two of water up by the cab. If it bothered me I could put some rubber tape to hold the seal. Only winter issue is clearing the ice off the cover before opening it up. I clear the snow off and park in the sun.

The more I read about these the better choice I think it will be. It appears they will be available for the Tacoma in October 2015 per BakFlip's Website. I wrote them a message asking if they knew the exact day it would be available, just did that today so not sure how long it'll take for a response.

 

I called Bakflip today regarding the Revolver X2. The very nice lady on the phone told me that while it says October it will NOT be ready in October it's still in Engineering and has not yet been fabricated. She said they are expecting a 2-3 month delay before its rolled out. She said I should call back mid November for an update!!! Wow......this blows. I really want an X2!!!!

 

Hi all, I am very interested in this cover as well. I contacted Bak about this and the G2 for the 2016 Tacoma, and they told me that both of these covers will be available by the end of this year. Here's to hoping they are right! I am leaning heavily towards giving the Revolver X2 a shot over the G2.

 

I have authorization from a vendor for holding a group on the Bakflip for the 2016 tacoma.

 

Just the G2 or the X2 as well? Do you know timeframe/pricing yet?

 

Yeah I really wanted the X2 but ended up having to get the HD instead. Kinda bummed about that. Not gonna lie.

 

I am going to hold out as long as I can. I have watched a few of the videos, and I really like the way it looks & works. I think I am willing to give it a shot sight-unseen.

I can't confirm pricing yet, sorry. I just held a Bakflip group buy a few days ago and was able to get 14 participants

 

sooo...G2, X2, or both?? if the X2 is an option in the group buy you can count me in for sure.

 

I dont know pricing, quantity, nor models.

All I know is that the vendor has authorized me to do a group buy for 2016 tacoma bakflips.

When? When they bakflip gets released.
Price? Finalized when bakflip gets released.
How many? Finalized when it gets released..

I wish I could have believe me. I had to have something though I'm headed out to Arizona fromAtlanta and am driving there with stuff in my bed. I needed something to cover it. Had really waived they were able to stay on the October original timeframe.
