anyone that has a bak flip understand what I'm talking about.

has anyone tried to notch the bakflip rail so that the factory rail could be accessed? or even if you could, would things like tie offs, and bike mounts not work because they live in the same real-estate as the cover?

    thanks

How would you do that? I don't know? I have an Undercover tri fold and finally gave up trying to figure it out. I would like to use all the attachments that came with the truck but I'm in the same soup as you are.

im not even sure if its possible. i need to climb under and have a look myself.

i was thinking that the vertical part of the angle that bolts the bakflip frame to the inside of the bed wall could be notched in places, allowing access to only certain spots. essentially the tie down brackets that are normally adjustable would be fixed to one spot. which, if it work should be better than nothing.

but that all depend on if the bakflip mounting rail is continuous the length of the bed, and is solid enough to be able to give up 2 or 3 inches in a couple of spots.

i just figured that if it is possible, someone here has already done it.

tail gate lock, rear view mirror bracket, hood hinge brackets, and the list grows.
I was wonder this myself, I wanted to run a bed rack with my tonneau cover. I know sounds weird but it would still give you concealable semi dry lockable space, with a rack system on top.

The front cleats still works for tie downs but for side tie downs, you can add D-rings to the Bakflip bolts. As for transporting bikes, you can look into building those PVC bike racks or if fork mounted, you probably can just bolt those fork bike mounts to the bed.

or mount these directly into bed:
