Has anyone had any luck fitting a Bakflip CS on 3rd gen Tacoma? I know Bakflip says it is not compatible, but they have it for the 2nd gens. How much different is the 2nd gen’s bed configuration from the 3rd gen’s? Could it possibly fit on to a 3rd gen?

It works with minor or major modifications depending on what route you decide to go. 2018 Tacoma SR AC 6' bed

Looks good @Pariah1984 ! I got mine from a GMC and am waiting for the Tacoma relocation hardware. Also thinking about buying some wide truck topper sealing gasket. Hope to get it installed this week. I’d like to pick up and extra set of the racks as well as those ladder clamps… the seller unfortunately didn’t have them

@SouthFLTaco the clamps I got were something fairly generic and much cheaper off Amazon. I needed to take a little material off to fit it into the T slots, but it's pretty simple to do if you decide to go that route. Also bak industries sells their cover specific gaskets if you decide you need one of those. Extra gaskets to seal will definitely be helpful, though I personally have yet to get a completely water tight seal.

That’s great information @Pariah1984 , thanks. I saw a few different varieties on Amazon, and wasn’t sure which to try… Now I have the 4 the previous guy was using on his GMC, and I just received the Hardware kit I bought from BAK Industries, BK—600, for reference. Ran about $50 shipped which O thought was reasonable. Came with gaskets, bumpers, drain tubes, clips for the straps, and ten (10) relocation S-brackets with the necessary screws.

I’ve run into having to deal with a family member going through some medical issues so I haven’t been able to complete my project yet. In my case the Bakflip CS does not have the correct profile to slide into the relocation brackets for the Tacoma, and the cover is a slight bit narrower. The width is a critical dimension because the “locks” are a specific width and have to mate perfectly with the side rails in order to click in and secure.
