    Hey everyone!

I currently have a BakFlip G2 and love it. However, I have been looking more and more at a soft topper. I am trying to make a pro and cons list so I can decide whether I should swap or keep the tonneau. If anybody that owns either has info on them to add that would be awesome.

I rarely leave things in my bed overnight and mostly worry about security only if I were to leave something in the bed while going into a store on the way out of town or something along those lines.

    G2 Pros:
    Security (Locks with my Tailgate)

    G2 Cons:
Cannot fit taller items in bed without folding the entire thing up, blocking my rear window.

    Supertop Pros:
    Fits taller items
    Style (Personal Opinion)

    Supertop Cons:
    Cannot Lock
Gas Mileage (Rumor I heard. Anybody have the facts?)

    Similarities:
Both fold up/Collapse if I need the full bed

I went from a Bakflip to a A.R.E. cap on mine and I have no regrets. While the Bakflip looks much better then a cap, the functionality of the cap outweights any negatives it offers in my opinion. I go through car washes a lot so a soft topper or bestop really was a good option...that the best advice I have hope it helps a little.

Thanks! I wouldn't go with a cap. Too much money for me.

I could sell it for about the same as a softopper costs though!

I have the g2. You don't have to fold it up completely against the cab unless your cargo takes up the entire length of the bed. You can also simply detach it and throw it in the bed folded up. I thought about the bestop and softopper, but stayed away due to lack of security. I'm now looking into a canopy.

I like the G4 elite and Retrax one.
Not sure which one to buy.
    Anybody have a Retrax one?

I have a retrax XR pro I found at junkyard and put on my truck. Big fan of it, except it is not very waterproof. Super convenient and secure, also good for securing things like kayaks and lumber which may hang off the back tailgate.

Trying to get best of both worlds and install bestop supertop on top of retrax this month. We'll see how it goes
