    Looking to purchase a bed cover and I think I’ve narrowed it down to the Bakflip G2 or the Bakflip MX4. Everything I have read has been very conflicting on wether or not you get to retain the factory bed rails or not.

    So, I have the following questions;

    Can you still use the factory rails in a 21’ model with the Bakflip covers?

    I’m not 100% on the differences between the 2, so I’m not entirely sure if the MX4 is worth the extra ~$100 or not.

    Does anyone know of any anti-slip bed liners? I’m not looking for a spray in product, more like a form cut bed mat that will keep everything from sliding around in the bed. That drives me crazy.

    Thanks in advance!

    When you say the factory rail which ones are you talking about? The rails on top of the bed or the rails that the tie down cleats are on? Either way you should be able to keep the rails. I had a G2 on my 17 Tacoma and there was an option for bed rails or no bed rails. They came with brackets that relocated the rails IIRC. If you are talking about the rails on top of the bed then the seal of the cover lies on top of those rails.

    Also, get the MX4. I had the MX4 on my Tundra. The G2 says you have to shut the tailgate before you latch the last panel but the MX4 you don't. If you are in your bed alot this gets old pretty quick. At least that is how the one I had on my Tacoma was.

    I was talking about the cleat rails in the bed. I honestly don’t see myself using the cleat rails all that often, but ya never really know!
    That’s good input on the difference between the 2 covers, thanks!

    Get the factory bed mat = no more sliding. I have the MX4 and had to lower the rails.
