Truck and set up looks great.

I already have the MX4 , and plan on getting the same KBV rack and similar tent.

I was wondering how much of a pain , if any is it getting to things in the back of the bed?

The wife and I usually have it pretty well packed when we go camping , and was wondering if it’s unbearable getting everything in and out with not being able to fully open the tonneau?

I ran into the same issue with my gofsr and my aluminum max modular. The top rails on the bed rack run from the cab to the tailgate, same as the mounting rails under the tent. So if I want my tent to open to the side and not to the back I had to set the tent rails on top of the bed rack top rails parallel to each other. Kind of annoying but got it to work.

depends on the height of the rack. obviously the 18” rack will give you the most open of the first cover but you won’t be able to open it fully unless you remove the entire rack. probably will need to crawl in and out to load inside the bed.

Yeah that’s what I’m thinking. Which I’m totally fine with. Just wondering how bad it is with the 10” rack like the OP has.

I’m going to try to keep the tent the same height as the cab. So the 14”, and 18” are out the question for me lol.

I’m 5’6” and the wife is 4’8” , so I don’t mind sending her in to retrieve the gear

    Awesome, thanks I appreciate it.

I just didn’t want to put all kinds of money into it and instantly regret it. I was pretty sure it wouldn’t be a problem.

    Thanks again

I have the 10” aluminum with the tonneau brackets that puts the tent just above the cab and enables me to see out the back window

Fellas with the mx4 and bakflip tonneau brackets, any issues with install? I found that when mounting the tonneau brackets there was huge gap between the bed and mx4. Had to cut a small groove into the bed lining for the brackets to fit in. Anyone come across this issue?

Were you able to get the rack mounted and put some bikes in your bed? I've been looking for some pictures of someone with a rack and bikes in the bed with the front wheel over the tailgate. I'm not sure what height rack is needed. My friend had a rack system but we could only fit 27.5 bikes with the droppers slammed. we couldnt fit the 29er in it. I think the seats were in the way.

I finally got it mounted on the truck. I ended up drilling a few holes (4) to mount the iKamper with the correct spacing. Picked up some stainless bolts and washers to mount it as the clamp style mounts aren't compatible.

Awesome setup! Do you think you would be able to put a kayak or two on a J cradle mounted to your roof rack? I've been debating what height bars to get for the bed and am a little unsure. I can't go too low, otherwise there won't be space in the bed for bikes. I can't go too high or kayaks won't securely fit on top. I suppose with your setup, the kayaks could be shifted to the front a bit to fit on the roof rack and not interfere too much with the iKamper.

Stoked for your fun times ahead too.

I think this would work depending on the shape of the kayak and how far forwards it is.

Question.. I have a KB voodoo bed rack system, the width of the crossbars are 3 inches.. does your RTT mounting system allow for mounting on that width? reason being, this is the first time im actually looking to get a RTT. just wanted to get some more info on how they mount, and if those mounting systems are interchangeable or not.
