AC9A9F9C-54FE-4A95-AD5B-1F17FE4C586D.jpg Got to drive my truck home from work in the rain yesterday, following my install on Saturday. I only installed additional foam on the side rails, and as it turns out, that’s the only place it didn’t leak! The leaks across the front of the bed will require me to put a foam strip across the front and possibly adding some foam in the front corners.
It really leaked bad at the tailgate corners. I’ll add a tailgate seal and check again. Lesson learned.

Does anyone have an ideas on how to make this "new feature" corner piece sit more flush? I called Bakflip yesterday. The customer service person said that the new corner pieces are cosmetic and can be removed. Or I could trim the foam down. But, for a $1000 bed cover should I really have to do that?

Just yank them. They are end caps that were added with the update over what used to be bare metal ends.

Mine were the same way when I first put them on (in Nov'19), but they eventually "formed down" over time.

The summer heat should help them form more. We'll see.

Thats good to know. Thanks for the info. I suppose I could put something heavy on top of the corner pieces to expedite the process.

Any of y'all have this issue? Had mine since Nov'19 and this thing popped off this weekend.

My first bakflip didn't have these, this is a recent update and mine were missing laying in the box with my recent one, I just tossed them.

I did and I have the bed Matt as well. I flipped the hangers upside down because seriously why hold something from the sides when it can sit in it? Then I put a couple felt pads in it to left it up. Works well, check my build page for pictures

So is the census this is worth 900 bucks? I'm considering this, I want a more secure, flush tonneau.

I had mine since March 2020. My driver side came off after this past weekends driveway car wash :(

    THANK YOU!

It's best of the best in looks thats all. If you're not in a rush just wait till Black Fri or else when Amazon is desperate and goes on sale. I got mine for $800 right when everything shutdown and Amazon claimed they can only ship out essentials lol

It's not. Just some screws. Now if you're wanting to seal it (make it waterproof), it takes more effort.

For me 100%, my 2020 came with an OEM tonneau, OEM cool, but its heavy, ugly and less functional, fades with time (my 17 also came with one) thankfully people will pay $400-500 for these things new, so that was my first mod, from the OEM to the bakflip, which I love.

You don't have to wait, just shop around, I've ran these on my 2019 and 2020, both I got for $820 w/out tax including shipping and the recent was when there was a shortage of these last month (guys claiming they had them in stock, but really dropshipped and couldnt find any). If you're real patient they pop up on craigslist for $500-600 every once in a while.

Are the newer ones greatly improved to the previous one? I have a softopper I am going to get rid of and am looking at the mx4 when driving long distances.

I just had the bak flip G2 delivered today and installed it and it has gaps in the front two corners near the cab. I took it through the carwash after installing and it leaks so im gonna try the RTV sealant and tailgate seals soon. Other than that its really nice so far

Do these relocation brackets for the accessory rail come with the mx cover?
I'm getting ready to buy a cover and can't make up my mind. Either a flip or a hard roll up. I just don't want to loose the accessory rail.

I found that coax seal works great to seal covers.

Yes. They are the mounting brackets for the cover’s side bars.
