MX4 is aluminum so it will be more sturdy. It holds 400lbs. It has 3 year warranty. I don't know much other details about how it compares, just know mine is awesome.

MX4 is the newer model. i think the biggest difference with the MX4 is you can close the tailgate without having to lift open the last part of the cover. i wanted the matte black so this checked all the boxes for me. call or chat with them, they usually give you a better price. paid $800 for my LB. might be cheaper for SBs.

Ahh, yes closing the tailgate with it closed is a big deal I forgot about.

I looked at all of them too and was deciding between the F1 and the MX4 and ultimately the texture decided it for me... well that and the price difference.

also one thing about the F1 is that its their premiere cover and will hold up to dings a little better since the top is made of FRP fiberglass reinforced Polymer.
    Here is their comparison chart:

The F1 will also let you close tailgate without having to lift tonneau cover :)

Anyone in the Texas area - I will be posting my F1 for sale soon.

I traded in my '06 TRD 4x4 OR on a '17 TRD 4x4 Sport. I optioned the Toyota Hard Tonneau. Really like it. I purchased a Bakflip hard tonneau for my 06 shortly after I purchased the truck new. The Bakflip initially was great but within 2 years began coming apart at the seams. I attempted repairs with high strength glues as well as screws but the material wouldn't hold. The other thing about the Bakflip is it rested on top of inner side rails limiting bed height by an inch or two. I ended up purchasing a Ranger cap the went with the truck on trade in.

Do all BakFlip use the same mounting system that requires you to relocate the Toyota rail system?

For those Tacomas all BAKflip covers will mount the same way. The cover brackets will mount behind the Toyota rail system. Here is a video that will showcase the process: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zL1YNoYdrMo
