Pretty set on a BAKFlip but thought I'd seek out opinions. Looks like the Lomax you don't have to drill drain holes?

I’ve never had a lomax but I had Bakflips on two trucks, a Ram 1500 and my Tacoma. I had the MX4 on my Tacoma and it was awesome, I would highly recommend it.

I had an earlier version on my Ram years ago, I can’t remember exactly what it was called but it was the predecessor to the MX4. The Bakflips are a really quality product, I put those things through a lot and they never broke. Very very useful addition to your truck.

I have bakflip and I like it. Only thing I don't like is having to lower the rails so it might interfere and prevent you from getting other accessories. For draining I just routed the tubes along the side so it goes into the bed. Then just cover it with a bed mat. Stuff stays dry so it's fine for me. Bed is a little dirty though since it's not draining out of the truck completely and only relying on the drain holes from the bed itself.

Contemplating the mx4 or the diamondback. Anyone have experience with the diamondback vs mx4? I haven’t seen them side by side.

Whatever you do don't buy the leer hf650. I did since the lomax wouldn't work with my bed stiffeners and both the leer and lomax don't require drilling. Well the 1st
one the dealer got looked like it had been in a box for 2 years ready to fall apart, 2nd one was worse with a slice in the rubber. Waiting for the dealer to resolve the issue. Leer not only sucks with the QC on caps now they can't make a quality tonneau cover either.

I have the Lomax. Chose it over the MX4. Didn’t have to move the rails, which means other accessories will fit as is. Very low profile compared to the MX4. No drain tubes. Just went through the auto car wash today. Very little water in bed. Completely acceptable as none are water tight. I absolutely love this cover.

Bakflip is the best looking and so near to water proof. I didn’t do drain holes or route the lines or anything. Fits so tight that water if any, is very minimal. it’s a win win.

I have a Bakflip. Absolutely love it, my favorite "mod" I've done. As others have said, it's mostly waterproof even without extra silicone or anything.

I had a bakflip G2 so I'm not sure if it would be a direct comparison, but the finish started flaking off after 2 years. Used the opportunity to get an ARE topper instead of putting another tonneau on it. Full disclosure, my truck lives in the driveway in south Florida so there is a lot of sun constantly beating down on it, but I would have expected more than 2 years out of it.

+1 I’m going on year 4 with my Lomax and love it. You just have to accept some water will get in but rarely is it very much I have a bed mat so it’s really a non issue for me.

The lomax also comes off very easily if needed. That is the main reason I went that direction. Takes me honestly 2 mins to remove it. Another 2 minutes to reinstall.
