Hoping for more help here than I have had from Bakflip support.....

I have a 2016 Tacoma double cab with standard (6 ft 2 inch) bed

    I ordered a bakflip mx4

This is what was delivered (see images) apparently all correct...

The problem is with the bed rails.

Firstly they measure 70 inches, whereas the bed is 72 inches (front rail to tailgate). If you look at the image (underneath view of bed rail) the silver part lies on top of the bed cap and the tonneau cover sits in the black part. The silver part extends 1 inch beyond the black part.

Secondly, protruding below the rail is a 'slot' for the 's clamps' to fit into. the 's clamps' are supposed to fit into the 5 holes (on a 6ft bed) that support the oem bed rails. The oem bed rails then attach to separate holes in the 's-clamps'. The 's-clamp slot' on my rails has been cut at the factory to 60 inches. This is not long enough to enable all 5 screws to be attached.

My questions to anyone who has installed a Bakflip MX4 on a 2016 Tacoma 6ft bed

    1. How long were your rails?
    2. Were you able to use all 5 's-clamps'?
    3. How long was the 's-clamp slot'?
    4. Did you find Bakflip support to be stressed out and unhelpful?

Bakflip support tell me that they will discuss with their engineer and get back to me on Monday. I will post an update then....
