    I don't really understand the functionality of the drain tubes. Is it to drain water that's sitting on top of the bed cover? I don't see any openings on the top of the bed cover for water to enter the drain tubes.

    No money, all went to truck...
    Lots of water gets into the rail channel and is channeled to the tube for draining. Its like a gutter.

    I would NOT recommend reducers, they will get clogged with junk. Drill holes to fit the included drain tubes. I used a step drill bit and took a few seconds.

    They are for the gutter rails on each side. Water that gets under seals, either from driving down road or car wash. Rails support cover, so Bakflip integrated gutters in to rails as preventive measure.
