    Howdy all,

How many of you with all terrains (doesn't matter what brand) have a smooth ride at 120km/h and higher? (~70-80mph). When I say smooth, I mean really smooth (no seat or steering wheel vibration, no passenger seat shaking etc).

I have a fairly new set of KO2's (265/70/17, C-load) on the 4runner TRD Pro replica rims on my 2018 DCLB TRDsport (no lift). I've had it balanced 3 times already (one time the weights came off) and it's all fine and dandy till u get closer to 130km/h or so and then I notice the vibrations. On my ML550 it's silky smooth (Continentals) at high speeds. I know that the all terrains have deeper lugs than passenger tires....am I just expecting too much for these kind of tires? It's my first truck and first experience with All Terrains....just don't know what to expect. Lucky for me though that the tire shop I'm dealing with has been excellent (Kal Tire) and they're willing to swap out a new set for me if needed. TIA!

Do factory Goodyear Wrangler Adventures count? If so, spent 120+ miles today at 70+ and it was smooth, no vibration in the wheel or the seats. They're getting louder after 28k miles but still staying in balance.

I've had other tires that I couldn't get balanced or stay in balance. My theory was that if driven unbalanced the tires wear out-of-round and thus can never be balanced again. Had this happen with passenger car sized Bridgestones and 29" Michelins.

Screenshot_20180618-180038.jpg I have KO2 c load... same tire size as u. I had issues getting it balanced when new too. Americas tire knew me pretty good. I went in 4 times till they got it buttoned down. Since then, no more vibrations/steering wheel shakes. I'm at 24k miles with them now. No noise and rides smooth as silk from 0-95 (as high as i've driven). Just put 1500 miles last week driving up to the eastern sierras, and over to the tioga pass through yosemite, and back home to socal. I'll most likely buy another set when the time comes.

You have a 4x4 truck with “all terrain” tires. Why in the hell do u need to go 120-130 km/h??? Buy a sports car!

KO2 have a very bad reputation for staying in balance, that's why I went with Falken for half the price and not a single balance problem at any speed.

I have the OEM 4runner pros with the 265 70 17 ko2 c load and mine run very smooth up to 100mph. Haven't been faster than that though. Have you tried a road force balance?

I have 265/70R17 C rated K02's that I got from America's Tire on my Tacoma. 6,000 miles on them in 2 months. I've been back to rebalance 4 times and they still vibrate like crazy above 60-65 mph. I'm almost ready to throw in the towel and buy different tires since I do so much highway driving.

Ko2 tires here, I put in balance beads when I did mine and haven't noticed any problems yet. I've put probably 3k miles on them so far

I've had terrible experiences balancing KO2's, we have 3 different balancers, road force, new school laser and old school. The tires are just poorly molded, some balance okay, some balance like shit. I'd say around 30% we can't get to smooth out. This is shit.

I used to work at a shop that wouldn't sell the old BFG's based on balancing issues.

I hate when they get sold with new trucks because of the stupid tire shimmy that some have. BFG's don't meet the quality I associate to a Toyota.

Best I can suggest is drive them for 10,000 miles and do a diagonal rotation and a re-balance.

They put pressure against the tread of the tire to simulate weight as if it were on the road. It measures and can correct for run out on the tire that might not be seen on a regular balancing machine.

I've got 286/75-16 K02s (E) & I get no vibration. Had em on for about a month now. Fastest I've gone on them so far is 90mph & they're smooth. I have noticed that I have a bit more weights on the wheels now than with my K0s but not extreme like some of the pics I've seen online.

Shop got my Cooper STT Pro perfectly balanced. Guys placed the weights only in the inside lip and no stick on weights. I’m impressed.

In my neck of the woods, this speed is the norm for the slow lane... I drive 80-85mph every day going to work... and that's with people still trying to pass me.

Hankook DynaPro ATM in P265/75R16. No issues, very smooth.

Had 10 ply 265/75R16BF Goodrich KOs on my 2nd gen. Lots of vibration through the steering wheel above 95km/h, could feel it in the seat as well.

285 Toyo AT IIs on my 4runner ran absolutely perfect no matter the speed. By far, one of the best tires I've ever had on a vehicle.
