My 98 prerunner has all orig suspension on it with 308k on the clock... i know half of the people on cringe reading that, i got it under 3k ago so blame P.O if you must. my questions are:
1: i already have inner and outer tie rods as well as lower ball joints but i haven't purchased upper ball joints yet, are they as big of a deal to get OEM?
2: should i do bushings while i'm in there? if so do i need to do both upper and lower bushings?
3: obviously the suspension is getting tired and while it only sees dirt and rock 3 or 4 times a year what suspension would be best for a 2in lift? i was thinking 5100s on 2 inch setting for front but what coils and rear set up?
I know that this is a ton of questions but i really appreciate the help and knowledge. here's a pic of my baby with her new HIDs i just built[IMG]

At that mileage, your control arm bushings are most likely shot. Other than the lower balljoints that have been known the fail and cause major damage when they do fail and possibly cause an accident, the rest of the work you've inquired about is optional unless you're having some sort of steering or alignment issues.

If you have the necessary tools to do it yourself, I'd say do the full refresh of your front end. If you're going to pay a shop for some of this work, you might be shocked how much they'll want to charge you. I personally prefer OEM over aftermarket.

Here's several videos that will help you out and let you know the type of tools you'll need to do all the work yourself.

Around $26,000 worth of unleaded in the fuel tank.
I like the AC Delco Professional series upper ball joints if I don't use OEM Toyota ones. I would avoid using the really cheap ones.

There is much controversy over lower ball joints since the failure of them creates such a bad situation. It appears that Moog has their lower ball joints supplied from different places; some people get good ones and some people get low quality ones.
