Ball Joint Replacement VS Complete Upper/Lower CA

Discussion in 'Suspension' started by fastabetter, Apr 25, 2016.

What method would you use to replace the ball joints

  1. Replace the upper and lower control arms (more expensive but quicker)

  2. Replace the ball joints (cheaper, but takes longer and need specialty tools)

So for the past 3 years or so my upper and lower ball joints have been shot causing the inner part of the tire to wear more than the outside. I've had it realigned twice only for the Tech to tell me "We got it as best we could but it's still off by several degrees."

From what it looks like the only way of getting the BJ's out is with a torch and specialty tools (and possibly weakening the metal surrounding the joint)

What is the most common fix?
