Ball joints moving

    Hey guys. Looking under my Tacoma this evening and noticed that I am turn my tie rods just a little back and forth by hand. I have a prerunner if that means anything? Thanks

    I think you need to clarify your question. Your topic says ball joint and your question is tie rods?

    I'll add my two cents and others can jump in and correct me if needed. Tie rods should "move" as it is their design. But they should not be loose. The typical way you check the Front end is .... having friend help - jack up each front wheel one at a time. Shake, left right, up down and apply a pry bar under the listed tire and pull tire upwards.
    Do all this multiple time on both tires. The other person watches from under the front end. Nothing should be loose (Ball joints, Tie rod ends, etc.)

    Many shops will inspect your front end for free (knowing they might find something wrong)
