Yes, those will work with the bed stiffener modified version of BamBed.
Just send me your order number immediately after you purchase, and I'll ensure you get the modified version.
p.s. I'm working on updating my website to streamline this process but am just doing manual verifications for now.

Would be cool if we could customize the width of each slide before ordering. I think I'd rather have one narrow and one wide if I went with one of these options. Just a thought maybe your customers might like.

The sliders look great awesome idea, any word on pricing. Also maybe a suggestion would be nice to have a wood strip on the bottom that fit in between the ridges of the bed so if you pull one out the other doesn't go sliding side to side im sure you may already have a solution.

Sorry I missed this! obviously toppers vary. This one is approx 26.5" from the top of the deck to the 'cieling'. My Bestop is inline with the top of the cab of the truck. HTH.

I work with birch ply and it is the strongest plywood I've ever seen. I am still curious though, do these pieces not end up bowing or warping after time? I figure spanning 50+ inches with no middle support would make it bow after a year or so. Have you had any issues with the material warping after some time?

I made my original set from much lower-quality material and they haven't shown permanent bowing after 5 years of frequent use.

i think also that for most of us, they are weight bearing only sporadically. a few overnights here and there, then long breaks. Also, they're 100% reversible, even with the stiffener notches. Just flip 'em between uses and you're reversing the flex pattern.

If you're using these as a divider that is more or less a permanent load bearing solution, this may not be the best option. Strictly my opinion.

@BamBeds , this is my current setup. I like it, got it from another TW guy who made it. It works pretty well for my needs, sometimes I use it, usually I store it and it is a dog anti slip platform.

I was thinking I might ditch the 2x6’s and just use the boards like you do yours rather than lengthwise which is easier to convert without climbing in the bed.

I’m curious, though, if you might want to offer a carpeted option for us dog people. Without holes as another guy asked for. I realize the handles are great for utility but my dog is an idiot and must be protected from his own stupidity.

He links to a certain carpet you can buy on Amazon. It was fairly easy to apply and mine is sticking well. Just gotta get on your knees and do some trimming with an exacto. I did it on big pieces of cardboard that I laid on the grass in the backyard

Understood and I’ve carpeted things before. I’m looking to spend for something nicer than what I can do myself. I can also paint stuff but I hate my own work there. Specialization of labor.

I was kinda thinking a routered groove to roll the carpet into. Either near the edge or on the edge itself. So that the staples could be recessed and the whole thing would look seamless. But I’m pretty bad at carpet so not sure how best to do it. I actually really hate carpet in general but my dog loves it.

I'm keeping things simple right now and generally avoiding custom orders. I aim to maintain same or next-day fulfillment so people that need bambed for upcoming trips can likely have it by their need date. This requires keeping inventory of all product variants. By adding another option, I multiply the amount of inventory needed to maintain that fulfillment standard.

I will definitely keep you all posted if I add this as a standard option in the future.

If you are serious about ordering a product with no handles, please PM me.

Hey all, thank you for all the support and feedback that many of you have provided publicly and privately.
It's been a lot of fun for me to take some of my own ideas and turn them into real products and production processes that many so many people can appreciate.
In the last few months, I've been working to streamline the design, production and shipping of the sliders and they're finally ready to hit the road!

Once you have taken them out camping, I'd really appreciate it if you'd report back here with some photos and your experience with them.

    Best Regards,
    Ben

    Product Description
Sliders are a simple and multi-functional compliment to the BamBeds Sleeping Platform. They enable quick access to the entire cargo area of the truck bed without appreciably reducing total available cargo volume in the way that full rolling drawer systems do.

Like the rest of the BamBeds system, they are not permanently attached to the truck and can be installed and removed promptly.

The mostly flat design leaves the user with a wide array of cargo loading configurations and encourages the use of totes, bins, and bags that you already own.

Besides quick access to cargo, sliders also serve to provide a flat surface on or extending out from the tailgate area. When partially extended, sliders nearly double the functional horizontal surface of the tailgate. They prove useful for a wide variety of tasks - especially cooking.

When working on the cantilevered sliders it is important to be mindful of the amount of weight you keep at the forward end which determines the amount of overhang possible. Keeping heavy items like tools, or water on the forward end of sliders is advisable.

The material used is the same high-quality Birch that the BamBed sleeping platform is made from and in the same way there are numerous options for simple DIY customization:

-Attaching additional hardware for organizational purposes
-Carpeting with Adhesive Carpet Squares (easy on the knees and good for delicate cargo)-Painting or Staining with the color of your choice
-Perserving and enriching the natural wood aesthetic with a Poly Coat-Creating simple designs, or full works of art with hot wood burning

    Aftermarket Bed Stiffener Compatibility

The current sliders design is not compatible with most common aftermarket bed stiffeners. However, they are compatible with the internal-design 4wheel parts bed stiffeners.

Ben, have you tried those Rubbermaid totes with the sliders? I use them with the OEM bed mat, which has some thickness to it, and the totes work. Wondering if this is just a bit too thick for those.

The 10 gal Rubbermaid totes that I used to recommend are just a hair too tall to work with the sliders. They'll fit without the lid but with the lid they're going to interfere by about 1/8".

These ones will definitely work and are lower, longer and wider
