I'm only Prerunner. Not much wheeling, just fire roads, dirt trials, Pismo a little more high speed cruising stuff for me

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
I would get bumps in there before you try and rework the lower mounts.

I couldn't tell you that the go fast guys are going to say stop it when the leaf gets flat. Crawlers will go all the way to negative arch. Its all in what your trying to to. Seeing that your a Prerunner I dont see you doing much crawling. So I would set your bumps to stop your springs right as they flatten.

I'm hoping to get some work done next month, maybe after Jerry plays around with the dmz sua and u bolt flip, he might start getting ideas...

Nice, I'm just looking around for a good strong plate, I want to see if I can get some chromolly bolts made. Don't think I spelled it right.

Grade 8 is plenty at a minimum tensile strength 150,000 psi your fine with grade 8. Also grade 8 bolts are a "medium carbon alloy steel" so it's very similar to 44140 Chromoly.

I'm trying to find something that doesn't rust fast, I got new bolts when I got all pro expo leafs put on and the bolts already have more rust on them then the stock bolts do. The stock bolts are 8 years old and the new ones are about 7 months. I just don't have the piece of mind about them that I want.

Chromoly will rust unless it's plated. Most bolts are Zink plated but they will still rust if the plating chips off. SS would not be a good option as they can snap easier then a grade 8. Maybe try some por15 on the u bolts to keep them from rusting. If you live in a salt belt or in a state that salts the roads it's just something you have to deal with. Jumping under the truck and touching up the spots that need it every few weeks in the winter will help a lot
