Now I need to figure out the length of spacer necessary to center up the tops of the Fox shocks.

Had to put everything together quickly because I was nursing a wound during the install. Had a cutting wheel explode and nearly cut my finger off.

@Chadr7858 How have you liked the 360/80 valving your 7100’s? @T1089 went with 255/70 and @socalexpeditions did 275/78.

Anyone else have any feedback on their valving in their 7100’s since some people seem to have gotten some miles on them now?

Mine are great I can absolutely mob with a load and it really helps control the heavy duty leaf pack. With no load its a bit much but it only takes a hundred pounds in the bed to make it perfect

I don't really have any comparison, but with the 14" SB's the truck feels way more planted and controlled as well as droop for days. the 255/70 are great unloaded and with camp gear. if your "overlanding" with lots of weight regularly id probably go with higher valving rates.

Sooo as I read through the comments I see most you guys are runnin the 7100 instead of the kings and fox , and talking about valving them appropriately, how do I figure out what I need ? And get it done ? Do y’all do it by ur self ? Or have get it from somewhere with the appropriate valve ?
I’m 1700 over stock in the rear and getting an Alcan leaf

7100 SB’s are able to be ordered in different compression/rebound values IE “Valving” they are also rebuildable I believe. I picked the valving from a valving chart for our trucks, but that was recommended for mid-light trucks. I run 255/70 but don’t usually have a lot of weight and they are great. The higher valving helps to control the stiffer rear leaf springs and added weight. I’d probably go with 275/78 minimum. Cant really say much else in terms of personal experience.

I'd do the 360/80 being that heavy without a doubt. I run 360/80 with no weight to keep the leaf pack under control

I'm running the 14" 7100 SBs with 255/70 and have a bit of weight and I like the ride.
Even loaded up for a week of camping I like the ride.

    A few things….
So I really don’t want to brake down the leaf pack if I don’t have to for measuring the up travel. I have the 7100 14”. Why can’t I just hang the truck from a lift (full droop) with shock mounted at the top only, then lift shock 1” and weld bottom mounts?
