    Nice!
I'm struggling to figure out my order of operations. I have a high clearance bumper mounted. BAMF hangers waiting for install, gonna order the shock relocation as well. Thinking the DMZ kit over the Dirt King kit since I'm not notching the frame. Seems like the frame box should come last so I can make sure I have access inside the frame. And I want to do the cab mount bushings and solid motor/trans mounts while the box is off... Then there is the need to paint and protect inside and outside of the frame. I'm in the great salty north.
What was your paint method and materials? Did you leave it totally naked then try to get coverage on the inside, or spray weld it on everything then cover that? Or?

One of my 5160’s is dead so I ordered my relocation kit and a set of 14” 7100’s w/ 360/80 valving. Last set I could find at the old pricing. Bilstein raised the price to $250 a shock. Ordered limit strap tabs as well. Anybody have any suggestions on strap length?

Amazon with the quickness. Purged the nitrogen and started taping them up so I can work with them. Won’t have time until early April for this project but I’m excited.

Not sure on actual length but I believe the standard is to go with 1" shorter than needed to account for stretch.

Is the valving you selected for a real heavy application? I have front and rear steal, skid, topper and tools. Was thinking the 255/70 valving would be best.

I’m not sure what you mean by stretch. What is stretching?
I went with the heaviest valving per @Chadr7858 experience with them. I can also re-valve them if they are too much.

Straps tend to stretch some from the original length. So you'd want to account for that when setting them up with the shock length. Obviously 1" is rule of thumb, depending on the length of the strap. There is probably an average percentage. Gathered this from a few references, haven't done it myself yet.

I was also thinking about that same question. If I went with the heavier valving, is it a huge pain in the ass to revalve? I tow a bass boat a lot in the summer and I have a HC rear bumper with swingout and veer cap, as well as being a DCLB, so I am heavy already but it too thought that the 255/70 might not be heavy enough for me. Do you think that the 278/75 might be a happy medium for my application or is it easy enough to re-valve and go the heavy route?

I plan to strap the rear and I don’t do anything high speed. Bilstein states the shocks can be used as a droop limiter on low-speed applications. I will get everything setup then take measurements for the strap and I will order 1” short to account for the stretch. Straps are only $60 for a set so I may grab a few sizes. Not sure how much they will stretch though doing only low speed stuff.

I was going to try 278 valving but it has been discontinued by Bilstein and can only be ordered as a custom valving now or you can do it yourself. There were some 278’s on eBay still they wanted a premium for them and wasn’t worth it. I found this set at the old price on Amazon and had them within a few days. Here are 2 videos for rebuilding and re-valving 7100’s.

wow....ok....that actually isn't that bad at all. I had actually thought it was going to be much more involved. I might have found some 278's online that "say" they are in stock but they are $259 a piece. I might go that route of getting the 360's and valving down if necessary.

UPS delivered a 3rd shock today. I guess it will be a spare and one for me to take apart and play with. This is like the 4th time in the last 2 years I have gotten extra parts for free. I need to start playing the lottery.

Has anyone run these with 255 80 17? I am wondering with a skinny tire if spacers are needed at a certain offset of wheel.
