BAMF 2nd gen Hybrid front bumper

My bare was right around 14 weeks and was delivered last week

 

Whats you plan for finishing? Are you doing a local powder coat or a custom finish?

 

You didn't ask me, but I'm doing the Raptor bedliner on mine. That worked out great on another bumper I have as well as the nerf bars that came with my used Tacoma.

 

I didn’t get a bamf bumper but I Think they are awesome, when I got my winch mount I got it bare thinking I’d save some cash getting it locally powder coated , I didn’t. I should have had the place just do it when I had my mount made.

 

I'll be doing local powdercoat a friend works at one so I get a deal...im from Canada so usd to powdercoat is $$

 

One more question, how does shipping work? Can you ship to a residential address?

 

So I didn't read back and realize jerry said the xl 80 or similar type won't fit and i already bought some..does anyone who has mounted them have advice on how to make them fit and look good?

 

I came here to ask exactly if those would fit. Looks like a very tight fit. Just had a pair delivered to go on the hybrid but was not looking like it would fit.

 

I'm wondering the same. it looks tight but this pictures shows they will.



Unless the wings on this are welded slightly with more room then what we have.

 

Went from a Pelfrey full plate to the BAMF hybrid earlier this year. plan is to cram some XLs next to the SAE fogs so we’ll see. Overall nice bumper, saved some weight, have a warm 12k winch behind it. You can cut the forward brace and leave the top on for anyone that runs into that. It sits a bit low right now due to my aftermarket trans cooler. Will eventually remount it and adjust it. For now it works and has been across the boarder and it to the dessert a few times with great success.

 

You will need to weld new tabs to get them to fit I sold mine it was more hassle than it was worth

 

Yah I am seeing I would have to do something to make it fit. Either the picture above had that done or the wings were welded lower with a slightly larger opening. It’s prob off .25 and it would fit.

 

I've had my bumper on order for a couple of weeks now and can't wait to get it in! I haven't purchased the reinforcement brackets and have a few questions about them:

Has anyone installed without them?
How hard would it be to add them on after installation of the bumper if I bought them later?
Are they absolutely necessary if a winch is installed and expected to be used?
If I purchased them now or later could I add them to the same freight shipment when the bumper is ready to ship?

 

What brackets are you referring to? The BAMF ones on the sides are included. If you mean reinforcing the mounts that’s never a bad idea but should be okay.

 

They are included with the bumper order. In my eyes they are absolutely required if you want to winch without ripping the frame on your Tacoma over time.

 

Agree I was referring to extra plating or gussets on top of yours. Def those are a must on the bumper.

@JLee bumper is killer! I was too excited and couldn’t wait before painting, even tho the raw look is kinda dope

 

Nieither did I until I picked them up. I had another set at home already as well. Sold them to a friend for a good deal.

 

Sorry to quote an older post but what light did you mount where most people are mounting s1's?
