I went with Bolt On cause the strength differance between the two is minimal from what I have seen. Also I will do it myself and have the option to remove for maintenance (paint). Alot of guys with Bolt On sliders beat the shit out of them and dont have any issues.

Man $450 is a rip off! I'm lucky that I have some friends who are excellent welders. Two of them have already said that they would do it for free.

x2. Inevitably, the steel sliders will rust up here in New England. As far as strength, you'd have to break several Grade 8 bolts or bend the frame for them to give out. As long as everything is installed correctly and torqued properly, bolt ons will take the abuse.

Jerry, how much you charging to weld on the sliders? I've been looking for places and have a few quotes but feel they're high. Just curious buddy! Thanks again

Haha I read back a page and saw that, sorry for the repetitive questioning. So the $300 I was quoted is ridiculous then! Damn...

I'd guess that was a shop that was unfamiliar with the work and therefore really didn't want the work and threw a ridiculous price on it. I've seen that happen a few times in construction. Then you find the guy who's done it a hundred times, gotten proficient at it and gives you a price less than half of the other guy.

Yep I got it down I've installed about 80 to 90 sets. The first set i installed took about 4 to 5 hours and the last set I just installed was 45min so yeah if they have never done it before they are going to charge a lot just so they don't loose money installing them.

As soon as Eric gets these ready to powder coat. We have to get this group out the door and there is a lot of powder coating.

Sometimes in residential construction we throw in a real high number just because we dont really want the job. Then sometimes we get it lol :D $$$
