LOL I know they have been on my shelf for awhile. :D

I finally picked up a set of 285 tires last week. I'm trying to get everything taken care of before the Moab trip next month.

These plates are going to make this cab mount chop so much easier than it woul have been if I would have had to cut out my own pattern and steel.

Id like to say that your CMC plates were exceptionally beneficial in performing the chop. That said, I would like to request you change the size and shape of the plates. You state they are for clearing 285s. I am running American Racing Artillery wheels 17x9 with -12mm offset 4.53" backspace. That is combined with Nitto Trail Grappler 285/70R17. The Trail Grapplers are a larger 285 with a square shoulder. My front suspension is OME 885 springs, OME Nitrocharger shocks, and Desert Products Uniball control arms. The net result is that when my wheel is turned completely to either direction, the wheeon the inside has the tire's outter shoulder come very close to the CMC plate. With ANY upward suspension movement, my tires rub the cab mount post chop. If you could PLEASE make a larger plate that is made to cut slightly THROUGH the circle of the bottom of the cab mount so that your plates will allow clearance of 285 mud tires it would be greatly appreciated. I believe the issue is that aftermarket control arms add caster by moving the top of the spindle to the rear and this, combined with a larger, square shouldered mud tire, does not give the necessary clearance.

I spent 5 hours on my plates, slowly cutting with a cutoff wheel, trimming, welding, filling imperfections with JB weld, smoothing and painting. My work ended up looking beautiful, but I still rub my cab mounts at full lock, under compression.

Any pics? I would also to see pics of any trimming you did to the fenders? My chop came out perfect no rubbing at full flex but now I'm fighting the fenders.

My wheels have a 4" back spacing

I have to go to work but will try to get some pics up. With 4" BS are your wheels narrower than mine? I am guessing you have 8" wide wheels. I am still trimming the fenders. I hammered over the pinch weld, cut off the metal lower mount for the clip for the fender liner and mud flap area with metal shears and then rolled the edge back. Looks like it will be necessary to clear out the inner lip of all plastic below the bottom screw as the whole inner lip rubs under compression.

^ Sounds like we have done a lot of the same trimming thus far. I still need to hammer over my pinch weld (it's on my to do list this weekend).

My wheels are 8" wide but with the 4" BS means they stick out .5" farther than the factory 4.5" BS wheels.

That would be helpful if you could get some pics up later.

Ordered mine earlier today and hopefully this resolves the rubbing. I am running 17x9 XD Spys with -12 mm offset , 285/70 Duratracs. OME with 885 coils and 1/4 spacers.

You will need new UCA with that much lift. With your tire at 0.15" shorter and 0.3" narrower than mine you won't have rubbing at full lock under compression so long as your caster is 2.6 degrees or greater with an after market control arm post chop.

You can see how it will contact upon compressing up and back.

You can see how close the tire gets. You can also see too little plastic cut.

You need to cut all plastic up to this bolt hole. The metal behind this plastic I am holding and about to cut needs to be cut even with the CMC and the edge rolled up. The pinch weld needs to be hammered FLAT up to the point of that horizontal cut in the plastic. Inintially I just rolled it over and it still rubbed.
