I currently have Daks and ATO shackles and I trimmed them.

I am waiting on my Deavers and will install the BAMF shackles at the same time. I don't think any trimming will be needed as the mock and design was done with Deavers IIRC.

@JLee trying to knock this out, something is missing??? No lock washers or nuts for the frame bolts. My fault for not checking the hardware before starting this project.

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.

Missing hardware for sure you should have 8 Nylocks as well. If we left those out go pick up some at the hardware store and email me the receipt I'll send over the funds.

No worries, just got back from budget bolt. Bought everything I needed, I also get a discount from them. I am moving forward with this project again, don't sweat the missing hardware, just wanted to let you know. Besides, your going to build me a bed rack one day. Thanks for all that you do, will post pics soon. Take care Brother.

If your keeping track of qc with the nut/bolts one of the 2 kits I got was missing the fine thread nuts. But already got some from the store.

Not looking for payback. Just FYI

1 side done, the other side is ready to be installed. Rivets are no joke, started with a small disk cutter, X-ed the head, air chiseled heads off, BFH to remove stock hangers, X-ed what was left of the rivets sticking through the frame, hit them again with the air chisel, used a ball joint press to remove the top ones, and the air punch bit for the sides. Will finish this up tomorrow.

Hangers are done and these little basturds caused me to spew a few curse words.Bolt was used to press them out with the ball joint press. Working on my cross brace now, just need to fab it all up.

Anyone tried to drill a hole in dakars after shortening the leaf ? I'm wondering if it's worth trying to reinstall the leafs anti squeak pads. Are leafs some kind of tempered metal that's hard to drill? Guess I'll try on the part I cut to see how soft the metal is. I need to buy a drill press for stuff like this and because drill press!!!

Hangers are on on the brown Santa sleigh and I'm gonna prep in the AM!

Yay! No more wonky rear end! I am a bit concerned about how much lift I am going to loose. I dont want that carolina squat:rofl::thumbsup:

O I will. I have a shackle flip. I'm just wondering how much. I need to lighten up anyway and this will give me motivation.

What shackle flip kit do you have and are you going to sell it after the new hangers?

You shouldn’t have to shorten them just shave the sides down so you retain the hole for the anti-friction pad (which gets shaved as well)

As long as you're shackle flip was setup properly, you shouldn't have "issues" like I did.

Send me your ground to fender measurement and I can give you mine after the hanger install on HD dakars unloaded.

Stage 3 Deavers are getting picked up tomorrow!!
