Forgive me but did I install my shackles in the wrong orientation?

    Is this correct?

    8AFA6A17-1208-49F1-8B28-9D7977B7261B.jpg

I installed mine with the zero fittings pointed towards the rear of the rig. The thought was that when flexed out, the zero fitting could come in contact with the bottom of the "craddle" of the brackets.

    @JLee

    EDIT: My installation

    Hey Jerry,

As you know (I've been hassling you lately) I picked up a set of these hangers. I'm now mentally preparing for the install...

I know your instructions say that the best tool for removing the rivets is a plasma cutter, but I have no idea how to use one, nor would I trust myself not to blast a hole in my frame.

As an alternative, I was wondering if you think this method would have any merit... Grind off the rivet heads with an angle grinder, down to the existing hangers. Use a pry bar/chisel to remove the hanger. Then use an induction current (just picked up a Mini-Ductor II from a TW member) to heat up the remaining rivet shaft to cherry red and knock it out with a BFH.

Do you see this working or having any ill affects that I'm not thinking of?

That thing is bitchen. Anything to make the job easier is a big plus. The rivets are no joke. I kept them as a trophy. Good luck.

I don't see why not as long as you can fit it on them without over heating everything else. It might put a lot of unneeded heat to the frame as I'm sure the heat will spread onto the frame as well. So that BFH could do some frame damage if that too is glowing red hot and you hit it. Just something to watch out for.

This is what I received for hardware. Anyone know if this is correct? I’ll make it work, whichever the case.

My only concern are the two longest bolts which thread the schackle into the hanger, they just seem too long.

    Plethora of "useless" shit
The shorter two of the four longest bolts are the incorrect hardware if yours are like his pic. The longer bolts go through the shackle and leaf eye and the "correct" shorter bolt goes through the shackle into the hanger.

The left bolt is this pic is the correct one. If you have the bolts that look like the one on the right contact Jerry and he will send you two replacements.

Thx, this is what I got. Also, I’ve got extra hardware from other shackles that I can use, I’ll see if I need anything else.

Just got the easy part done with all the hardware, but not sure the zerk will be assesible. I’ve put enough joint grease to last awhile.

Flip those shackles around. Those are backwards. I confirmed with Jerry last week.

I'm not certain, but I think those shackles are installed backwards. Gusset of the shackle towards the rear... right @JLee ?
