I was lucky, they happened to be in stock when I ordered. Also got lucky and found 7100’s in stock at the old price. I’m just lucky. Install isn’t hard, just takes patience and lots of grinding.

Has anyone else had problems with the shackles locking forward at full droop?

    Hd hangers & hd shackles
    Running dakars

currently no shocks if that makes a difference. Just cycling right after install.

I’ve helped it passed and cycled it to ride height then just comes all the way back and locks forward at full droop again

    grease nipple is forward

    *edit*

The rest cycles fine to ride height after helping the shackle about 1/4”

I haven’t had this problem yet but I’m going to be adding limit straps next week for that reason. You may also want to trim that second leaf. You can see where it is making contact with the shackle.

Your shocks (12” or stock) will be the limiting factor, it’s not going to lock then.

I’d rather have to weld a little spacer to keep the shackle above the lock point than have to limit my travel

And already trimmed, i just havent painted it yet

That mildly concerning for if/when a shock were to break on the trail.. since we all know shit happens lol

No matter what you do you are limiting the travel. That’s the point. If you droop out too much and the shackle is getting stuck, you limit the droop to where the shackle doesn’t go past horizontal. No matter if you use straps or some kind of spacer, your doing the same thing.

Yes i understand i would be slightly limiting my potential travel.

But my point is, that would be fixing the root problem of never letting the shackle flip passed the lock point.

As it seems, its not as big of a deal as i originally thought. I’ll just throw my shocks in and make sure it doesn't do it and it will be a “deal with it later” problem.

I’ll take nylon straps tensioning over metal on metal contact of a spacer. You might be able to make a bump out of a softer material to limit travel at the hanger but strapping is easier, cheaper and how it’s commonly done. Straps fix the problem you reported but you do you.

    I agree.
I was more concerned before because i didn't realize the shocks were suppose to be the limiting factor. So i didn’t want to use a limiter strap to limit my shock travel just to keep the shackles from flipping.
At this point if i were to add a spacer it would as an extra bit of redundancy.

saw this thread pop up and felt the need to post my satisfaction of the hangers. i added the brace between as well. had a huge drop in moab that i thought was a bumper hit but felt different... after closer look dropped directly on both hangers with my fat ass! they didn't budge! huge relief knowing i had that beef back there!
