Have non swingout on now, can’t stand spare in bed so ordered dual swingout.

@JLee do the bumpers come with camera relocate bracket now or still in works? Any ETA? Just curious if I need to figure out. Thx

After a few months and many miles with this bumper, overall I'm pretty happy.

I'd say my only complaints are the powdercoat and rivets for the swingarms. The holes pull pins go into are already rusting and the powder coat is coming off. It's almost like the powder coat was applied too thick in areas so the tolerances ended up being too tight. The rivets that hold the slide plates on are already loose as well. I'll have to drill those out and put some new ones in place.

Just a few gripes that can be fixed with a couple hours of work. I suppose I'll order a powdercoat repair kit.

Curious if anyone has figured out a way to mount a bike rack and/or hitch to one of the swingouts?

I would love to get my bike rack mounted to the swingout that isn't carrying the tire and allow them to swing out of the way.

A solution to this is the only thing holding me back from taking advantage of the October sale going on right now.

I really love the look and construction of this bumper, just need my bikes to swing too.

Maybe something like the spare tire mounted bike racks but mount it on just the swingarm.

Solid idea, but I already have a hitch mounted 1UP bike rack that I want to move to the swing outs.

Double down. I’ve been thinking of fabbing something like this for a while now. Here’s my drawings of what I’m thinking. I have the same 1upHD rack with two trays.
My only concern would be the hinge… havnt figured out how much force it can safely handle. @JLee any idea what the max load should be on that?

Figure those hinges are designed to hold a spare 35” wheel/tire combo at the very least… And you know BAMF stuff is overbuilt! Guessing you’d be fine with a couple of bikes and rack mounted on them.

That's exactly what I was thinking as well! Hoping I can get someone to fab something like that up for me.

I agree, my only concern was the load cantilevered out away from the swingout and the hinge.

You could have a mount made that bolts onto your swing arm that has a 2" receiver in it then use your bike rack :notsure:

I dont see a problem holding that set up on the arm without the tire. Better yet how about we make them on our tube laser? Seeing how it's for light weight stuff it could be mostly 2x2x.120 wall tube and we have been looking for more short parts to cut in that size to minimize waste.

@JLee I would be 100% down for a premade solution from you! I'll send you a DM to discuss further.

Okay sounds good @RangerComa if you want to stop by with your bike rack sometime soon I can make to the dimensions above and we can check clearances with the 1UpHD.

Just ordered the “Non-HC” version of this bumper for my 2019. I’ve been on the fence for about a year, mainly trying to find a no-cut swing out option that still allows the use of the BSM sensors. Finally gave up since I could not find an option available in the market either currently or in the near future. I will mention my research here to save some time and agony for any poor soul in the same boat as me.

Option 1: Bumpers with Swing Arm and BSM Support

There are currently none in the market.
@Apogee Offroad was working on a design that would come as a retrofit to their original BSM compatible bumper, but they have since put that project on hold indefinately. I have been working with Ethan to see if there is a chance that they would breathe life back into that project but with the current market conditions does not seem like that is possible (and who can blame them for that)?
Buckstop Truckware from Prineville, OR have a BSM compatible bumper without swing arms. I spoke to the owner at Overland Expo Mountain West and he did mention that he can ask his engineering team to look into a one off design but cost + travel time from SoCal to OR to make that happen discouraged me.
4wheel Parts sells a bumper with a BSM OR Dual Swing Arm option but not both as the swing arm mounts in the same pocket as the BSM sensor

Option 2: Bumpers with BSM Support (no swing arm) and a Hitch Tire Carrier.

Again, @Apogee Offroad was the only practical option. The Apogee bumper incorporates the hitch receiver inside the bumper (like any true offroad capable bumper would) but that presents challenges with mounting any hitch mounted tire carrier available in the market today. Once you relocate the hitch into the bumper, the support arm of these tire carriers will interfere with the tailgate when dropped. I spoke extensively with all of these manufacturers and they all said the same thing - its not going to work:
    - Rigd
    - Dirtcom
    - Wilco
    - JSport
The Buckstop Truckware and 4Wheel Parts bumper both use the factory hitch receiver which leaves a possibility open for any one willing to try but consider this - you’d be spending upwards of $1700 for the bumper and another $1000 for the hitch tire carrier and still be dragging that factory hitch receiver all over the obstacles. Not worth it for me!

So I will be saying goodbye to my BSM sensors once @JLee has my bumper ready. Im a bit bummed but mostly excited because I have been stuck with my spare tire in the bed for over a year now and it sucks!

Toyota if you are listening, you guys suck for putting a sensor inside the bumper on an “offroad” capable truck. That’s what the tail lights are for!!
