I sent it a little too hard and cracked the swingout my 35 spare is on.. just a lot of weight and a lot of high speed trails. Not ideal. He's beefed the design so it doesn't happen going forward. I'm only the 2nd instance apparently.

I’m guessing mine was the first. Jerry took care of me. Even drove the part up here since he was heading up my way. Pretty awesome if you ask me.

I attached a strap to the spare to limit movement. Helped eliminate the play/bounce on the swing out holding the spare.

that's what I'll end up doing when we are planning to hit some fast stuff. I'll just run a strap though the spare and attach to the camper to help pull it inwards.

The adjustable stops mentioned previously would be the ticket though I think.. I'm hoping those will be done and ship out with my new/repaired stuff as well.

Wondering for anyone using the dual jerry can holder, what brand cans are you using? Is it a tight fit and do the cans bounce around when empty/full?

I use a Wavian in my dual with a Scepter water can. They fit well and there is an adjustment on the holder that tightens against them. You have to carry the spout separately though. It won't fit in the holder with the spout in the storage location on the can. IMG_3081.jpg IMG_2726.jpg

Anyone have any suggestion for a flip up license plate holder? The linked ones in this thread don't seem to exist any more

I got mine at the link below several months ago. They are apparently located in central FL.

Not the cheapest little piece of metal ever. But, it looks from the website that they still might have them in stock.

And, promo code SPRING23 will knock the price down by $2.90.

For those also crazy enough to be considering a solo install who don’t have one of these handy lifts, and provided the bumper was ordered with taillight rub rails, it can be done as below.

Not believing it would actually work, I didn’t take any pictures during the process.

    1. Put oversized pallet (on which bumper was shipped) under truck bed.

    2. Maneuver bumper onto said pallet.

    3. Lift one side of pallet + bumper with Hi-Lift jack enough to allow placement of a jack stand under each of the 2 pallet corners on that side.

    4. Repeat process on opposite side of pallet.

    5. Raise pallet with a large floor jack. And, raise jack stand heights accordingly.

Because of the angle needed to mount the bumper, I found it necessary to also use 2 Hi-Lift jacks simultaneously - one on each side, lifting under the taillight rub rails, using towels to protect the powder coat.

Slowly adjusting the lift on all 3 jacks, along with some cautious sliding of the bumper around on pallet (with the pallet stabilized on the jacks and jack stands) eventually led to proper alignment of the bumper bolt holes with the frame.

Steel-toed boots might be advisable. But, these weren’t necessary in my case…the whole thing went reasonably smoothly, and all 10 toes are still fully intact.

How fast were you guys sending it? I've had the bumper for 1.5 weeks now and I'm beginning to see some play on both swing outs (35" spare and dual jerry can). I'm heading to a local OHV park this Sunday to test the suspension but I'm now a little scurred.

For me.. like 30-60 through whoops/washboards right before I discovered the cracks. That was year 2 of KOH with the bumper.. so idk when it started or what actually did it in because it has had other hard trips on it as well over the year and half or so it's been.

The shorter tire mount will be a nice addition with these when I get it on too.

Are the bumps to cancel out the play in the swing outs?
