I know there have been some people asking and wondering if this kit works with 2.5 inch shocks. The answer is yes, but VERY tight, you need to be very meticulous when you mock everything up and cycle the suspension a few times. I have about 1/4" between shock body and back of tower at ride height and 1/8" between shock body and front of tower at full droop. IMG_1188.jpg IMG_1187.jpg

Don't know why it took me so long to find this but I've been contemplating on whether to get a set of custom Fox 2.0 12" travel with DSC reservoirs added on or try to squeeze the full 2.5s.

may i ask what angle/measurements you are using for the lower shock mounts? i installed mine to find out i am lacking a lot of uptravel. i only have about 2 1/2 inches of shaft showing at ride height.

You should be removing all but one leaf to allow suspension to be at full bump when tacking on the shock mount. Shock positioning will be dictated by how much up travel your bump stops etc will allow. Feel free to send us some pics to check out

Those don't look like bamf lower shock mounts and they look too high.
Make sure the distance between your bump stop and frame is larger than the amount of shaft showing.
Got a pic of the upper mount?

yeah those are the archive garage lowers. they were a little thicker than the bamf ones and should have been mounted a little lower

2.5" Fox relocation * Hammer hanger * Archive MD springs

So you put 2.5x10" shocks on it then? Inferring from your 17" body measurement, and a 2.5x10 is ~18.5" including lower rod end fully collapsed.

Archive already did the math for owners who want 2.5x12" with proper shocks clearance and axle tab ground clearance:

Shock travel is going to be different that the shock body length. Looks like you are using a 2.5" body shock, and I believe the BAMF kit is for 2.0" shocks

the guy i bought it from gave the following part number when he listed it(KRS-PR2512-SS-A). so im assuming its a 12" 2.5 shock. i measured the actual shock body NOT eyelid to eyelid btw. and by looking at the link you sent, the lower tab needs to be MUCH lower than where it was mounted. but I did not see the part where it discloses information about ground clearance?

correct, it was designed for a 2.0 however squeezing a 2.5 has been done before. with a lot of measurements that needed to be done a lot more carefully than mine:anonymous:

That diagram is for the Archive 2.5" shock tower, which puts the top shock eye about 3.75" higher than that other tower.

I recommend people who consider trying stuff like this give us a call first, and we'll explain why this doesn't work
