Tacoma World FAS1.jpg FAS2.jpg FAS10.jpg FAS7.jpg FAS11.jpg I had a question I need to replace my Bank 1 Sensor 1 Fuel Air Sensor on my 2003 Tacoma SR5 TRD 235K . I ordered the sensor but when I went to remove the old one I found this I sprayed it for last couple days with PB Blaster. The nuts are pretty bad not even sure what size they are suppose to be. 12MM according to every thing I have read but tried both wrench and socket but I cant find one that fits correctly now the mail question to me it look like the nuts are welded on ? or the corrosion has caused that mess either way I will have to get them off or have to buy the assembly if I can figure out what part is required. Any one seen this before

It's less Tacoma and more mod
That's an aftermarket replacement downpipe and cat. Those studs don't look like the factory stainless steel ones. That's rough, they should be a 12mm, but they're usually locknut's and tend to fight coming off. I recommend using a Dremel and slicing the nuts right half in two. Don't worry about knicking the sensor since you're tossing it out anyway.

Thanks for the info I just had new exhaust system from that cat back installed Saturday because it broke off at that downpipe and was rusted. I had the Check engine light for the Bank 1 Sensor 1 for couple weeks ordered new sensor I have replaced them on my old RAV a few times this one was a no go. I think I may just order replacement pipe to go along with the replacement sensor and see if I can someone to replace it I am turning 61 in week and my crawling around under things are starting to take its toll

this isn't going to go well at all... one of the collector studs is factory, the others... don't know, can't see them. You might be better off frustration wise by replacing everything from the collector back.

Yeah once I figure out the correct part number for that pipe I can order one to fit and get someone that can bend better to install it.

Sad to say that is not a pipe that is your front cat .

That is going to get expensive if your in Ca or NY @$360.00 not CARB compliant

If you can get it off welding a new bung might be the cheapest option.

If your sensors have M12 studs they are different then mine !! I have M8x1.25 studs

12mm nut not M12 threads. He complained of not being able to find a wrench size that fit appropriately

If you have the means, cut those insanely too long studs down to just above nuts. Heat if possible, soak it while still hot. 6 point 12 mm socket or tiny pipe wrench.

Several years ago, I had the same problem; ended up buying a socket set that was designed to tighten down harder the more torque you put on it.

    Stock. EZ pass.Dump pass.Inspection sticker.Convict printed lic.plates.FG cap.
Use vice grips on studs then a 8mm tap to clean threads and install new 8mm x1.23 threaded studs. Easy Peasy.

If the studs don`t snap! Which seems to happen in my case every time

Maybe the OP will have better luck.
