So if the second one is SSO, which I believe it is, those are actually bolt on "wings" attached to the slimline to add protection. While you could cut it to look like that, I'm not sure how it would look without having something in there.

Edit: If you like the look, I don't see why you couldn't cut it like that though. Its all about how you want it to look.

Its the only reason I would suggest SSO over any of the other slimlines, but I'm not sure how much protection it provides. It seems like it would flex a good bit. I still prefer the mobtown slimline because it is lighter and looks more stock than the others.

From what I've read you can still get the affect and just heat and bend the fender to cover all the gaps and trim to fit. Just cut it and add some trim along the edge.

But @FadedComa is right...needs bigger tires to really look good. These 265s will probably look fine with a lift but anything else will likely make them look tiny.

If I were get either a bumper or sliders, which would be the better to have? Looking at the numbers and the patches I have to sell and it'll likely only let me get one so I need to choose.

Also need my windows tinted.....effffffff. Too many mods and not enough moniessss.

Sliders IMO. Sliders provide a lot more protection if you do even some minor rock crawling or go on tight trails and use the kick out to push off of trees. Just my .02

I would get sliders and the ifs skid. Going by the looks of the one I got from you, you REALLY need an ifs skid.

Good points. Might be better to wait on a bumper and just do all that later. Then I might can get a full front and rear. :fingerscrossed:

No that was from the curb at the mall.

But that was from one of those blues I went on that I landed directly on the rock. If I remember right it was the first one.

While typically I agree with the ifs, I went for a long time on stock skids, even running a purple and lots of harder blues. Yes they were beat to shit and it made some of my lines harder, but if you plan on mostly camping and overlanding, then the stock skids will be fine for a while.

Also if you can wait and go for a full aluminum front bumper, then I would do that. You get the weight savings for an overland build, and the clearance for some harder trails. If you ever plan on doing harder trails than blues, then get steel, but I have yet to hit my front bumper on anything.

I think the short wheelbase is gonna keep me off of most obstacles. Like y'all have said plenty of people run oem skids and are fine. I'll just have to be mindful when bouncing around on rocks.

While this will be more overlandy I still want to be able to go to places like AOAA, URE, etc and be cable enough to wheel. I like the idea of aluminum and wouldn't hesitate to get it honestly. Would just have to watch my angles on winching so the mounts don't bend.

Yeah. Somebody who has experience with aluminum might be able to weigh in more. I have no experience with aluminum and dont know what kind of beating it can take.

Yes do it!!!! I like that look it looks sick!
I like it! You could stiffen it up by adding some tube behind those winglets and welding them to the streamline.

that is nice! I would go one size smaller for rims if possible to get that prime rim/tire ratio

No bumper yet. Maybe later on. Sliders and lift are the big items!
