I did, tapes are marked on the passenger side drum/brake shield and the pinion.

    1 full tire/axle rotation = 1 7/8's full shaft/pinion rotation.

So I went back and instead of rotating the axle/tire I rotated the shaft a couple times. I then marked the starting positions and now I get

    1 full axle/tire rotation = 2 1/8 pinion/shaft rotation.

I prefer the method where you rotate the shaft/tire 10 times and divide. When I rotated the tire 10 times, the driveshaft spun 21.5 times. 21.5 x 2 is 43 or 4.30.

Did you chuck one side and spun the other?

Yes. Keep the other tire on the ground.

If your replacement diff is open, then the tire stays on the ground and because of your spider gears your revolutions get multiplied by 2. If it is in a locked state, then both tires have to move and the 10 turn method will give your exact ratio. Your spider gears don't come into play.

I have to type a full update soon - but the flexplate broke two times. The torque converter I used from the wreck was warped and it kept cracking the flex plate. I picked it up yesterday and it drives fine with the new torque converter.

Yeah I read, if all is good just be glad it runs. Sucks that the torque converter was bad, who knows what else could be?

I've been working on it slowly on and off for the past couple months. It's going to be absolutely overkill - take a look at the "How to Make a Fuseblock" thread on the Technical subforum to see exactly how overkill I'm going to be on this write up.

I have spreadsheets and charts and everything. LOL.

Sweet! Looking forward to it. If there's one thing I appreciate on here, it's detailed write-ups.
