if things with that roofing job had gone like they should've, the taco woulda been halfway paid off, at least, by now. it does suck but when i need another truck, you can bet your ass i'll go straight back into a taco...i'll just get the 4wd i wanted next time

yea with a chapter 13 i can keep the truck but i can't get refinanced or trade down for something else. i don't wanna keep it right now because i just want to get away from as many bills as i can and start over, so i'm just gunna save up some money and buy another mustang with cash so i won't have the payment every month for it.

nobody will lend me enough money to make a payment until i find another job and i can't get a small loan from a bank cuz my credit sucks now anyway...letting it go is really the only thing i can do, if my payment was only 4-something i could scrape up the money but i've exhausted every option i have of trying to hang onto it and i just don't have any left. it sucks now but i'll be better off in the end, i'd rather move back out of my dad's house than keep the truck, and both have the same monthly payment lol

^Well, that's true. Been there, done that. You'll come out of it eventually. Just do your best to pay what you owe and you'll also feel better about yourself.

i used to be at a point where i had money in the bank and i was comfortable to spend extra money on my car every month, and that's the point that i'm working back towards. i'd love to keep the taco but i just can't easily afford to and i'm tired of stretching myself too thin trying to pay for stuff that isn't something absolutely needed ya know

I'm 26 and i didnt get my first credit card until about 2 or 3 months ago. I only got it so i could use it online. (i had my info stolen and posted online one time so i wont use my debit card, its like giving someone a key to your safe. It wasn't quite identity theft but it was close) Anyway, a credit card can get you in alot of trouble. i only use my for online purchases, and i dont use it unless i have the money in the bank and then i pay off the balance right away so i dont have to pay interest. I hate being in debt. although right now i owe about 23k on the truck and about 24k for college loans, but i'm not about to get any further in debt

You need to ditch the truck anyway. Taco's are nice but none of them are worth $700+ a month. i still cant figure out how you got screwed on that

If alot of it is credit card debt, call a credit counseling service. They really do help. Find a nonprofit one, They'll do a budget for you and negotiate with the credit card companies.....I know this from experience TuRD. I've been in your shoes.

I'm an optimist (glass half full), TuRD. Look at the bright side, you'll still have the Tacoma World sticker for whenever you get another Tacoma.;)

Check out www.clarkhoward.com . TONS of great info on there. They will even call you at a preset time to answer your questions.

That's no lie. My mortgage is $724/month. Granted, I bought my house new for $103K (now valued at $173K) @ 6% 30 yr fixed but still. I now understand giving up the truck. I'd probably do the same in that situation.

my interest rate is 4.0% but it's only a 48 month term, and i only put $1000 down so i didn't really get screwed, it was my choice but i took the shorter term because the interest rate was less than half of a 60 month term and i was counting on having plenty of money with the new job ya know, just goes to show you not to count on anything until you have the money in your pocket

Yeah, college doesn't dictate how much money you make. It only dictates how much debt you have when you start making it. But don't listen to me, I didn't get no higher learnin.

yea it's just the smarter and better way to go, even tho i don't wanna give up my truck. i need to grow up and suffer through the consequences of my stupidity sooner or later, and i'd rather it be sooner so i don't have to keep living like i am...broke lol
