Base model confusion

In the case of my truck last year........When shopping, I noticed that the 10th character of the VIN number signifies the year....for 2016 it is "G". I surmised the letter designation after the 4 digit model number signified the month of production....it doesn't show up in the VIN. I looked at the specs of a TRDAC a in March 2016 which had a Model Number of 7560G and Serial Number GX023651. Mine was built Saturday, May 7, 2016, EXACTLY the same truck ...it has a model number of 7560J and serial number GX033361. Logic suggests that August=A, September=B, October=C, November=D, December=E, January=F, February=G, March=H, April=I, May=J, June=K, July=L.......at least that's my theory till someone can explain it differently.......

 

It was already explained in post #7. You'll have to ask NoDak as to the info source, but it seems independently corroborated by the OP's dealer.

FWIW my truck, a September build, has nothing after the 7544 on any of the paperwork. I'd have to double check the Monroney sticker later if needed but have no reason to dispute the info already cited.

 

the month is already denoted on the plate in the drivers door jam of which month the truck was made.

 

Mine was the 7545C
