Base rear bumper on TRD OR

Hey guys, I know this has prolly been covered many times already, but I can't seem to find a response. I have a 2015 dc black trd or, I'm looking to replace the rear chrome bumper with a black one. I can't seem to find anyone to trade with so I was going to purchase a new black one and just sell my chrome one on CL. I was thinking of getting this one ...

Also, are all step side bumpers for the 2nd gens interchangeable?

 

All of the 2nd gen bumpers are compatible. I also have a TRD off road, but installed a sport one I found on Craigslist. Dooooo eeeeeet! Do eeeet now!

Trust me, I've been looking for one. Can't find one anywhere! I've also considered the alternatives (paint, plasti dip, linex, vinyl wrap) but I would really like to go the Oem route and find a black sport one. It's proving to be difficult though

 

I have seen this and I have thought about it, I live on the md/pa line and we get a decent amount of snow in the winter. They use salt on the roads and I just fear that the salt and salt water would get in between the bumper and the plastic and just sit there and rot it from the inside out

 

I came across this thread looking for a black bumper to replace chrome. I ordered the bumpershellz and am satisfied.

I searched for trading a chrome bumper for a black bumper like the OP, found a link to the covers, then posted photos after install.

FML. Thanks tho, my plan was to buy another set to paint speedway blue later on. Just get the actual bumper and paint it now

 

Be careful buying a black bumper, some are just primer and passed off as "painted".

 

Thanks for the suggestion, I ended up having my bumper powder coated. Ended up costing 185, but it matches the paint perfectly and looks great

 

*Update:
Went out for the weekend, stopped to refuel and as I'm walking back to the pump, I notice there is a lot of chrome on my bumper.
I'm guessing the wind ripped it off while on the interstate.
I removed the other side, and found that only 1 of the 4 pieces of tape supplied were even still sticky.
Definitely not satisfied. But on the bright side, this gives me an excuse to repaint the bumper itself now.

haha, no I got the bumpershellz that were posted a little ways up. I really liked them too, but I guess they need to be better attached somehow.

 

I was wondering if something like this wouldnt work. I know ya get what you pay for so I was afraid to try it.
